Today we stayed in Gladewater, Tx. We stayed in Shallow Creek RV Park which is absolutely one of the best RV Parks we have ever stayed at. It is so clean and neat and roomy! ... all the lovebugs go in the fall. Once we started up I-49N, we got covered with bugs. All we heard for 3 hours straight was the bugs smacking against our windshield. Had to eventually stop to clean them off so we could even see through the windshield.
Pulled into Longview around 4pm and just crashed for the evening.
We arrived in Gladewater, late as usual, but Rita (my lovely sister) had delicious lasagna waiting for us. Neil (Rita's husband), Rita, and their boys, Riley, and Blake all waited up for us to arrive. It was nice to have such a great welcome party. Poor Neil and I made quite the pair during our time in East Texas, as he injured his ankle the weekend before. He was hobbling around and soaking his foot in ice water pretty frequently.
Today was another long day on the road but so glad we made it to Kilgore in time to spend the evening with my Uncle Jerry and Aunt Katherine! It was so good to see them and catch up. My Uncle Jerry has always been my favorite Uncle since I was a little girl. He and ...

Along I-49, we rain in to some pretty serious storms with lots of lightening and strong winds. It was time to put both hands on the steering wheel for Nick and Stan. But we got through it and the smeared bugs on the windshield were washed away by the rain and wipers.
We're getting pretty good about fueling up at the truck stops now ...
