..Og så kom mor, Morten og Mira på besøg

En update fra US to the A!

Breakfast???

from A TripAdvisor Member
I was very disappointed in just about everything related to my stay at 6500 International Drive. Beginning with the difficulty in locating the site/hotel as it is brightly labeled as Wellesley Inn and is set back from the road. Apparently this has only been a "Ramada" for about a month. Very difficult to find after dark!!!

The "continental breakfast" consisted of bread (get there early or else it's stale), soggy thawed frozen waffles, corn flakes, coffee/tea & 2 types of juice. Very sad!

There were no bell hops to help with luggage, no privacy (no Do Not Disturb signs and the maids don't knock). The front desk help was upset about something and was therefore rather unpleasant at check-in.

Clearly, with so many hotels in the area, this was not the best choice.

Now it's a Ramada, but still an excellent Value

It's no longer a Wellesley Inn, they changed their banner to Ramada. The rooms are clean, recently renovated and all have a great view. A decent breakfast is included at no charge, and the hotel's location is ideal for Univeral, Wet N Wild and Sea World. Highly recommended.

Excellent Hotel

We stayed at the Wellesley Inn for 2 weeks in June 2003 and found it to be a very clean and well kept hotel. The staff were friendly and the pool was great. WOuld definetly go back and stay again.

Nice Stay

Wellesley must have done a complete overhaul on this hotel. I stayed 3/18-3/20/04. I had no problems with check in what so ever. I had a choice of leaving a credit card with a $50 hold on it or $50 cash. I was given room 1006 which is on the 10th floor. The view was beautiful.

The room was near the elevator & I didn't hear the elevator during the night. The room was very clean, even the carpet was clean. The bath room was very clean. There were no ants (as mentioned in another review) nor any strange smell's in the room. The beds were clean & comfy. The pillows were a little flat but that is expected at times.

The elevator did have puddles in it (as mentioned in another review), however they are from people who are wet from the pool and nothing more (my children made some themselves). I didn't like the way the elevator stopped, the doors would open before it came to a complete stop. When using the pool, you had to get the pool towels from the front desk & they are very very thin....which explains the puddles in the elevators.

The pool was heated & clean. The front desk staff were very friendly & helpful. The free continental breakfast is served from 7am-9am and they close it promptly at 9am! They had coffee, tea, OJ, apple juice & 2%milk. There were frozen waffles that you needed to toast. Toasters didn't work, we had to use that revolving type toaster instead. They had white bread & wheat bread, butter, jelly & cream cheese. There were also cornflakes....that was it.... nothing else. Parking lot was a decent size for the hotel, never had a problem finding a spot... I also thought is was pretty well lit up at night. Would I stay there again....yes I would....

Wellesley Inn was great!

We spent a lot of time looking for hotels in Orlando and AAA came up with the Wellesley Inn on International Dr. The AAA rate was $45.00 and well worth it. It was within 10-15 minutes of anything you wanted to see. While the hotel has no shuttles it is not that far to drive to any of the major destinations. What made the stay as good as it was was the staff. While not large they showed great attention to detail. They all knew where a good florist etc. was and were knowledgeable about the restaurants and which to see and to avoid. Rooms were first rate and well appointed. No strange smells etc. All rooms overlook a lake and the city at night is quite a view. Hotel is quiet even during busy times. Glad we passed up some of the pricier and not nearly as convenient "big" hotels.

Had a Great Time

We have just arrived home from our stay in Orlando for Christmas. We stay at the wellesley Inn . What a great location and very good value for money. Your room overlooks the lake which is full of bird life. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. the staff were very helpfull.

the breakfast is very basic. Toast cereal bagels and waffles but it is free. I think they should inprove on this. The rooms have a fridge and microwave so you can have breakfast in your own room. We really had a great time but Christmas in the fun parks is to busy at Christmas. if you can go a week later it is better.

It has everything a brazilian tourist is looking for at Orlando

from A TripAdvisor Member
I´ve been at Mic Lakefront Inn in 1999 and I can assure to all the brazilian tourists that it has everything we need there. Comfortable rooms, microwave, small fridge, guest laundry, pool etc and also it´s perfectly located. I tried to book a room last summer, but there was no room available. I went to another hotel and didn´t like it. My best friend is traveling next week to Orlando with her husband and I recommended Mic Lakefront Inn, hope they get it!! So, if you´re a brazilian, looking for comfort, good location and excellent services, you´re looking for Mic Lakefront Inn in Orlando.

My stay at the Wellesley

from A TripAdvisor Member
I stayed here for a week at the end of August. I searched high and low for a place near to Universal being that that's where we would be going. Pros: I got a great deal at a great location via internet for $35 night for a room with a king sized bed, mini microwave, refrigerator, iron w/board, hair dryer, and LOTS of drawer space.

Decent basic cable channels, including 3 HBO'S; it had a view of a lake with turtles, ducks, etc. and across the lake is Wet and Wild.

Complimentary breakfast included: toast, bagels, cereal, waffles, juice and coffee, a bit early though 7-9am. Cons: No shuttle to the parks, which we didn't have a car, but it wasn't too much of a problem being that the hotel is right on International Dr, the parks are pretty accessible.. Wet and Wild is about a 5 minute walk. We actually walked to Universal, but I wouldn't recommend it unless you like to walk, it's over a mile, not including what you will be walking at the park. We took the public bus back. Sea World is accesible by the trolley on I-Drive As far as the maid service, the bed dressings weren't being changed daily, and hadn't been given new towels on about our 3rd day, but as soon as this was informed to the person in charge, problem was quickly remedied, other than that the room is clean and well equipped.

Overall for the price, great room, but when I checked website again, deal I found is no longer available. Guess I was lucky.

Int. drive stay

from Dado 1
We stopped at the Wellesley Inn Int. drive and we were very impressed with the service - nothing seemed too much trouble and they even threw in a cont. breakfast (but you needed to be there before 7.30 or you had to wait your turn 15 to 20 mins queue) rooms were kept nice and clean. As far as entert. is concerned it is a must to see Shrek 4d and Spiderman both in universals parks( one in each), by far the best 3D ever seen, they are the best in fact having been three times to Florida now Universal is by far the best entert. for your money Busch gardens is not bad if you like very hot zoo's but they do have some very good rollercoasters but again the best are in univ. the only problem is it rains nearly every afternoon in July (it did last year as well) and the queue's on some rides are 2 hours long - so be warned get in the parks early book your favourite ride first with a fast pass ticket then do some smaller rides whilst you wait.

Great Vocation

Stayed in this hotel May 04 03 - May 16 03.A very pleasant hotel with friendly staff. The rooms were made up well and well equiped rooms with 27inch cable TV, Fridge, Coffee maker and Iron and board. The rooms where made up each day and cleaned very well. My children enjoyed coming in each night and finding their beds made and their cuddle toys all layed out different each night. The air condition was excellent ( Were not use to the heat here in N.Ireland). The pool was well maintained and cleaned every morning, the temperature was just right. The breakfast buffet was had very good selection of American fayre which we enjoyed most mornings. The Amenitys around the hotel were ideal for our needs, 4 washing machines, 2 tumble dryers + ice machine. The front of house staff where friendly and helpful. This Hotel is situated ideal for Wet & Wild and Universal Parks.
