... heading back up Cancun. Let me tell you about this water. It was so refreshing and clean. It had this smell that I can't describe, but it was delicious. After cooling off and grabbing a bite to eat we were in the van on the way to our all-inclusive hotel.

The Great Parnassus was a wonderful place for us to stay because of the activities available for children. However, we did not use of the services. On one side of the hotel is ...

Racing the cold front

... drive day for us, we pulled into St Vrain State Park. The anticipated cold front arrived here on Thursday and it got down right chilly on Friday night. The highs have been in the 20's and we got about 3 inches of snow. The good news is that it is much colder in South Dakota and Nebraska so we made the right choice to come to Colorado ...

Killer 17 Hour Flght to the Big Mango

... is where I believe all of Asia's shopkeepers come to buy clothing and items for their shops. And they were all there today. If there was a open patch of cement, someone put up an EZ-up canopy and was selling something. Crowds of people pushing, walking in the roads, tuk tuks and cabs trying to drive, honking, police whistling, shopkeepers yelling--it was complete chaos. The cars, scooters and tuktuks drive so close to you that ...

Getting to Denver

... wel as the Rocky Mountain National Park around 6:45 this evening. We thought about camping, but decided that staying in a hotel would be more convenient since we have to get Janis to the airport around 11. We decides to stay the Quality Inn, which has complimentary wi-fi, continental breakfast, and a indoor pool. It is comfortable here and it's nice to be on a real bed. Goodnight! Hope to give you another update soon!
Shout Out #38 - Returning Home

... point was vague and indiscernible. Even items I mailed home early in the trip felt as though they were sent from somebody else. These things weren't mine. It was eerie. I had no sense of ownership and only a small sense of familiarity. It was a good opportunity to create a new relationship with materials. The earth's elements all possess inherent qualities and mass production makes it easy to forget the miraculous traits those elements have. It's easy to forget the resources we ...

This, My Latest Blog

Hello and welcome to my travel blog! My starting-four-months-late travel blog!!

I will disclose up-front that I began my travels in May but am beginning my blog in October.

Basically, I blame this tardiness on grad school. My natural tendencies lean more 'lazy and irresponsible' than 'productive and timely.' Graduate school forced me to suppress these natural tendencies and do stuff-- a lot of stuff-- all the time. Specifically, a lot of reading and writing. Normally ...

"Am I a Screw-Up?" and Other Poignant Questions

Hello and welcome to my travel-blog! This is my last full day in Colorado. Tomorrow I go home to Georgia, which I am considering the beginning of my travels.

I'm a little nervous. Not about the trip...it's hard to explain. I'll be gone for over 2 months, not all that long really. But I've come to understand that where I am in my life, for better or worse, is a consequence of my decisions. I've consistently chosen adventure over intimacy ...

SO THIS IS WHERE I WILL BEGAN...

... call "old town" which is downtown to this "city" or town if you are from around here. O yes and because this is a college town the rent is very expensive, so roommates are most likely a must. The nice thing about Fort Collins is that it is place very nicely next to the mountains so it is cool seeing fresh snow on the mountains tops. It is very pretty. Also a nice drive to head ...
