Well the day has finally arrived, The Ride Home. Brodie and I will leave a couple of hours before Chris (we are on the bus to Milwaukee). Chris will have the farewell breakfast and then safety talk before everyone starts the ride home. This should be the most exciting 4 hour ride, collecting some 70,000 riders along the way back to the home of Harley 'Milwaukee'.

I'm working on a grant for the National Institutes of Health that is due early next week. Once that's done, it's full-on preparation for our month-long Journey to India. Daisy is doing her Santa impression (making her list, checking it thrice) and we received 4 new pieces of luggage the other day.

The airline tickets are booked and now we just have to finalize some domestic trips while on the sub-continent.
Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States vdroverExciting times! One more day before the big trip and we are doing out last minute preparations before we go. There are things to be packed though and that will get done tonight and then a little bit more tomorrow. We have an evening flight so we should be pretty well rested and ready to scout about Copenhagen as soon as we get checked into the hotel.

Stay tuned for more!
Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States gildo... it would be to pick out one.

Presently, Wisconsin is very chilly. I feel like it's October, rather than August. The high is in the very low 60's! Today I've just been working around the house, making bread, washing jackets and getting my room clean.

That's all I got for now, but will write more when I have more!
Muskego, Wisconsin, United States krtravels... fun of NYC. As much as we are both a little sad to see the trip end, it's time to get back. We miss our apartment, our friends, cooking, and the general familiar things that make our lives what they are.

People were starting to stir in the Chmielewski home by the time we got back: Nancie was awake but Tom was still sleeping. Since he never sleeps past 5:00AM, she went upstairs to make sure he was still breathing. (He was ...
Muskego, Wisconsin, United States chmielewskij... tour! Too bad I didn't bring my camera to that, because now all I have is a dozen **** camera phone pictures of Travis Barker's fly-over-the-crowd drum solo! Amazing. Anyway thanks to the hospitality of Rob and his friends (well most of them j/k lol rofl), although short-lived, I had a great time in Milwaukee and certainly hope to visit again.
Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States dmdmadzI've just driven two and a half thousand miles in 3 days. I get 50 miles from Milwaukee and get stopped for speeding. *******! The Officer never even gave me a chance to talk my way out of it (which of course I could've done because I'm an incredibly charming guy). It's $260 fine, and I don't know how I'm going to pay that considering I've been sleeping in my car and living on Twizlers. When he realised ...
Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States gary_cailin... or non African American faces in the area we were travelling around. Trusting Mandy at this stage took us to a street in a housing area that had NO RV Park (maybe we were thankful for that?) Ok reset our good friend Mandy again< yep you guessed it! No change in the culture and the next place also had no RV park! Oh dear, find a convenient place to pull over and pull out our books, reprogram for the "State Fair RV Park" Mind you Rick had "read somewhere" that the State park ...
Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States popusa2008Around 24 hours left until we pack up the car and start our car ride from Wisconsin to Florida. Greg and I are still trying to figure out the best way to pack the car so that we can fit everything in the trunk and keep the backseat as clear as possible for our 84lbs and 73lbs Labrador Retrievers. Yes, we are actually taking our dog along for the ride since we will heading south to visit my family; an ...
Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States thewanderers... yet. I mentioned a couple of days ago that I was bringing it with me on this trip, and Sunshyn raved about it so much that after I'd finished reading Alan Alda's biography (great read, BTW), I started Lamb. Michael and Sunshyn were right. What a fun book! I raved about it so much that Mary, Ellen and Tricia went off looking for it in Borders and, of course, bought it.. Ellen figures we threw the bookeeping ...
