I went on a little scenic journey yesterday through the countryside north and east of Mt Vernon, skirting the lower edge of the Cascade Mountains.

It was a lovely drive with open farm lands giving way to views of the higher snow-capped peaks and particularly Mt Baker (another active volcano - link below if you want more information. this whole ...

I'm looking forward to being able to see wild penguins in their natural habitat as well as seals and all the other creatures there. I love the road less travelled and am excited to have this new stamp in my passport. So let's see where this journey takes ...

... was amazed at how much biographical information infused their fictional writings.

On Sunday morning we stayed for a talk by Village Books store owners about what is involved in owning a book store and how they started out. It's a wonderful book store. If you are even in Bellingham, check them out.

By the way, Books on the Nightstand is also available as a podcast. It's a great way to learn about new books coming out.
