Getting Ready

Hello Everyone,

We're getting ready to go to Cuba, and setting up this blog is part of it. We fly to Havana on the 8th, and we intend to update the blog at regular intervals. I think we're making our escape just in time... the weather's starting to turn the wrong way...

By the way, for any thieves out there who may be cruising this site, we have major security at the house, plus a full-time housesitter, so forget about it!...

Cheers,
D&T

... to empty our our wallets to pay. They didn't get a tip. On the way back, Keith spotted Lake Ontario, so we had to make a detour to go and see it. That we did. We drove through Newcastle and then finally in Grafton we found a nice pebbly spot. Keith skipped some rocks and I went back in the car, it was cold. By the time we got home it must've been midnight. Another successful weekend roadtrip.

Here we go! Monday we leave

Left aligned photo tag: Starting to Plan our trip! So Exciting. We will be travelling to Amora on the 2nd of March via London [where we hear we will have a hectic transfer with lots of time on our hands arriving at 9 AM London time and leaving at 3:30 to arrive on the 3rd of March in Lisbon] Whew! I'm already tired. Good thing we have several days to rest up before our roadtrip to France!

Getting in Travel Shape

To travel well, the road warrior needs to be in good, good, shape. So, my journey begins Sunday morning in Peterborough. Up early and leave my house for the gym. But first, a stop at Tim's for a little java jolt ... after all, it ...

Something always comes up...

We were supposed to leave early Sunday morning, but there were some last minute repairs on my truck that needed to be taken care of. Everything is all fixed now and in perfect working order, so that means we will be on the road first thing Wednesday morning. Better late than never.

A stop in Montreal

... a number of things to do there, we chose to tour the Biodome. We couldn't have timed it better. From where we entered the building, we walked along a dividing tape for a few hundred meters. Seemed kind of strange and unnecessary. After waiting what felt like a long time in line (but was really only about 15 minutes), we had our tickets and were off. As we left the Biodome, we discovered what the dividing tape ...

Hello All // A quick note before I head out

Hello All, Well it's 6 days before I leave for my trip and I figure it's about time I get going on this 'blog' I keep talking about. I will do my best to keep this updated during my trip and upload photos whenever possible. However, I may need help with motivation. So please post a comment or send me an email to help keep me inspired to write. So this past weekend we had a BBQ at the farm which was kind of a going away party, but the thing I didn't want to tell ...

... way to the Seven 11 BUT I didn't get that far! My friggin car stalled just after I got through the intersection! I just started to laugh! I called Wayne and he said he was on his way! Spike was in the back seat wondering what the heck was going on! I called Laura and Amanda....I knew they would get a laugh outta me running out of gas on my last nite here at 1030pm! I had soo much still to do before I could go to bed and I ...

Leaving For Our Trip Out West

On July 7, 2004, we left on our trip out west. I was so excited. I love travelling and I especially love travelling out west. I have been to British Columbia once, about 10 years ago and I absolutely loved it. We left about 7:00 am in the morning. It was a rainy day and kind of dreary but nothing was going to dampen my spirits.

Almost Ready and Yet In a Panicked State

... trip basically fills in the parts of North America that I haven't seen yet (by car that is, Labrador & Nunavut are a little inaccessible via that mode of transportation). I will be going as far north as is possible via car in Canada but I will be going even farther via a short plane trip to the shores of the Arctic Ocean. I have been challenged by Kevin Kingdon to surpass 70 degrees North which is his own personal record. If it means crafting a crude raft out of ...
