... passed. Noon. Finally, truck arrives, fan belt on truck....shew. We had been told it would only be about an hour installation. So I figured we'd be on the road by 1:00. Oh, you silly girl. The mechanics have to take lunch! While we were waiting, Brenda was outside our coach with her phone. She put her head down to type on her phone and BANG! Whacked her forehead on our slide out. Almost knocked herself out. She's sporting a nasty goose egg and scratch on her ...

... us for almost an hour! Nothing amiss was found, of course, so I guess our number had just come up and it was 'our turn'. It was late, dark, wet and cold when we finally arrived at the I-5 and Lacey, WA Walmart, but we were quickly snug and warm in our trailer eating turkey soup, then climbing into our fleecy-sheeted bed!

An early start the next day took us to Camping World and another Walmart ...

The big concern for this backpack trip, besides food, is that I'm just coming off a knee injury. It is actually an old ski injury that flared up when I increased my incline on the tread mill, one of our cardio routines. I didn’t do anything about it for a couple of weeks just thinking it would go away but when it didn’t then I went to the doctor and was diagnosed with tendinitis.

... the eating kind of grape, for they were intermingled with the orange trees and there were no wineries to be seen…at least, not from our vantage point. And, in the fields with the grapes, cohabitating with nature, were oil well pumps, moving up and down, like hammers pounding nails.

And finally we reached our destination. We are now less than 2 hours from Paso Robles…so Rudy, does this mean you lost the pool???
