... s house in Maidstone, with a mug of tea reflecting on an amazing 5 days. I have met old friends and lots of new ones. I have never laughed so much or been so impressed by the generosity of complete strangers...a big THANK YOU from us all.
Well I know it's a Friday night & I should be out celebrating but I think I might just have another cuppa & early night!
... believed me.
We now have all the accomodation for the trip sorted thanks to some generous family members and one of the cheapest Motel deals in the UK!
Today we got a call from the local newspaper, confirming that they will be running Colin's story next week and Colin's justgiving site reached over £1600 which is great. Well I better sign off for now as Jackie is trying to watch the "X Factor" and the Jam Doughnuts are calling me!
Two days left - still can't really believe we're going. Excited and also a bit nervous - how will we get from place to place especially around Cambodia and China?
Working our way through our final to-do list and just hoping not to have any last minute panics!!
Suppose it won't sink in until we're on the plane:)

We drove down to Hastings after that. I snoozed a little bit on the way, but not enough. We arrived at our hotel to a pleasant surprise. The Channel was right across the road from our hotel! Actual water and France less than 40 miles away or something! (No, you can't see it from there) Unfortunately, my room backed onto the alley rather than the road, but when we had ...

This is a really big deal. Maidstone isn't really known for it's thriving music scene. Or anything else. We don't even have a football team in the top 6 leagues. Nothing happens here. So when the largest radio station in the country decides to host a huge festival in your local park, literally a ten minute walk away, you know it's a big deal. Then they announce the sort of people appearing. Madonna. Usher. Nelly ...
Maidstone, England, United Kingdom darrenstravels... about what sort of people will be booked with me on this sort of tour. I went online and I typed in Travelsphere (the tour operator) to see any reports about them, and one of the articles that I found said that this company was for over 45's age range! When I told this to a friend he laughed loudly and said that I would be going on a Saga holiday and I would be the definite young blood of the group. I found ...
Maidstone, United Kingdom robhandley... Kerala is know as 'Gods own country' and by indian standards, it is easy to see why. It is beautiful compared to some of the cities we have visited in this country..Much more greener than Goa and very pleasant on the senses (Trivandrum apart, which was quite urgghh..) we plan to visit Trivandrum and Cochin during the holiday, so stay tuned for those reports.... As soon as we got through customs we immediately went looking for that ...
