... mile 100!! Woo! We have gotten pretty good at crunching 10 miles by noon. Around then, we take off for the heat of the day; we start up again around 4pm and hike until we find water or a sweet campsite. Today was one of those sweet campsite days. ... Museum of Art next door. Pretty impressive museum overall. We were allowed to take pictures with no flash, but decided not to. Taking a picture of a Monet to view on screen is like watching an action movie on an iphone. It cheapens the experience.

I got up at 7:30, joined the others inside and ate a banana and bread with butter while reading the New York Times news story about Congress passing Obama’s health care package. We went out to work in the garden at 8:00 and I mentioned to Ignacio how quiet it is in the house and he said he’s the only one who talks much. I spent the morning with my hands in the soil.
