... in English on that bus and we had to guess our stop to a certain extend. Not doing too bad we only got off one stop too early, which didn't mean more than 10 minutes more walking. The temple itself was really nice and and greatly located, the tourist information employees hadn't promised too much.
Unfortunately we didn't have time for much more in Busan, what left was a nice dinner close to our hotel and preparations to finish up our trip in Seoul and Tokyo.

Bites of Busan

... the thought of actually going home. At the bus station though – the first bus we could get didn’t leave until 10:40, and I had the longest to go, so by the time I got to Sokcho, got a cab home, and waltzed into my apartment it was about 5:30 in the morning – time for another nap before work today – the best way to get some real MILEAGE out of my weekend.

And my co-teacher told me that my sunburn is “sexy” so I’ll go with that.

... s a lot of crazy things going on in this world, and I can handle it! I mean, I used to not want to hear about it. Living at home, the U.S., it's so easy to go about your life, and ignore politics and world issues. I mean, we care, but really....we don't. We can turn the channel. We have our reasons, and life is tough enough where we are. I was afraid to pay attention to all the bad things happening. I couldn't do anything about them anyway, and they ...

... but a few weeks ago, it was SOOOOO cold! This SoCal girl is just not used to it!! I mean, Chico got cold sometimes, but mostly I think it just rained.... There were a few days last week when it was 25 degrees at 1pm....oye. My area of town is located on the East side of a mountain, so in the mornings, there's plenty of sunshine. In fact, I see the sun rise every morning around 7:30am, from my window. Unfortunately, the ...

Just another Saturday

I went to costco today here in Korea. Its not really like it is back in the States, a lot of the items are a lot more than you would think they would be. Anyway, I took 238,000 WON with me, the final price came to 232,000! I was pretty happy I didnt have to send anything back. It feels good to not have to eat out every night, and much healthier too. Thats all.

School Sports Day

Big event here at Onchun Middle School!!! I wasn't really sure what to expect, and was a little worried about being "forced" to participate in a 100 Meter Dash.... Luckily, the teacher's weren't expected to participate. Sports day consisted of (of course) the 100 meter dash, tug-of-war, group jump roping, a 1/4 mile relay(i can only guess as there's not really a track), and a staff on kids soccer game--the male staff, and the best ...

... on Saturday night, and we met some cool people. There are a lot of universities in Busan, so there are a lot of students and foreigners in those areas. I found out that after a year of teaching experience, you can become a professor at these universities... Something to keep in mind. Great on the resume, and a big pay raise.

On Friday, Anne and I were invited to join one of the international ...

Being spolied again

... 12 hours we were on the ferry to Japan (7:30pm - 7:30am), with Meg sleeping most of the way back. We only left the comfort zone of cabins 525 (to Japan) and 527 (from Japan) long enough to get some noodles from the on-board vending machines and to check out the economy class digs, the ones we'd have been in had it not been for Nick swinging us the upgrade. To say we were thankful would be a huge ...

... on offer so, rather reluctantly, we hired bicycles and set off. Our first stop was Tumuli Park, home to 24 small man-made hills. The hills are actually the Korean version of the Egypitan pyramids; that is to say that they cover tombs in which royal family members were buried. The hills were built in such a way that any tunnelling into them (to steal the treasure with which the deceased was buried) would cause the entire structure to collapse. Nonetheless, excavations ...
