... is little relief to avoid. The region is drained by two huge rivers. The North Saskatchewan flows East, and the road has been following it since Edmonton (which lies on its banks). The South Saskatchewan comes up and joins it North of Saskatoon at Prince Albert. There is something majestic and comforting about a river. It is wonderful to discover them when you get to town -- they are normally invisible from the road. ...

Flight leaves at 6:22 AM so I have to be at the airport at 4:30 AM. Luckily Auntie Diane is awesome and drives me. I got to the airport a little before Andrea but not much. United makes you pay for any luggage-boo on them. We are not sure if we will be allowed to take food thru security so Andrea chugs her water and inhales a muffin. Go you ;) ...

Well, first I just wanted to cry because to be honest, by this stage, I was over travelling and Greyhound Canada just was not as good as it's US sister. So I had a whinge to the driver of the bus I had just got off. He was actually nice, and organised with the guy at the ticket office for Greyhound to pay my ticket on the other carrier, since it was their fault. ...

So I am sitting in the dinning car once again on VIA as we travel through the less than flat prairies.  I had always assumed that the prairies were completely flat because of the Corner Gas references and the stories of travelers past who have sworn to me that the ride from Winnipeg to Saskatchewan is the most boring section of rail.  In my experience today I can't disagree more.  But to be fair the Canadian is what you make of it.  No one ...
