Long ass car ride

Ok I know there is going to miscommunications between people but this one was big. I'm not going to go into detail but a 3 hour bus rid to hang out with some friends for the night turned into a 10 hour ride jammed in a suv with 7 others to go to a WEDDING! Ok, I don't have any nice cloths with me and I wasn't planning on 10 hours in a car. At least I got some free food.

An enjoyable & colourful colonial village.........

... who spoke fluent English and his staff were extremely friendly, as are the hotels owners. The spacious rooms are nicely furnished with two double beds, cable TV, purified water and wireless internet. Rates begin at 700 Peso for 2 persons but you shouldn't have any problems in getting some discount if you ask. I was fortunate to get a room for 325 peso as the owners of the hotel were ...

Paradise Lost....

... are gated compounds where you drive into an open garage, close the door behind you, and enter the attached motel room through a door in the garage... you then put the necessary amount of pesos into a drop-box to pay for the number of hours you're going to stay - no human intervention necessary and totally anonymous (and pretty weird, but safe)... however all we could find was a Microtel Inn and Suites which is an exact copy of the Comfort Inn we stayed at in ...

Windy Isolated Beaches of El Dorado

... him to the staton and he gave it back. he then started saying something about how we wouldn't have to pay any money here or in town and asked for something else instead. we had no idea what it was he wanted but eventually he asked for $5 and let us go. that night on the beach in el dorado i felt a bit unnerved as we were very isolated and miles from anywhere and people kept coming for short periods. we imagined intimate encounters and dodgy drug deals and tried to sleep.

All Las Cascabellas park just for us

After driving all day, we arrived at a small town named... Costa Rica, definitely something to be confused here! City of Costa Rica in Mexico! We were looking for the road to the campsite and wound up on progressively smaller... bumpy..., dirt roads and we eventually got stuck on the rail road track... with the travel-trailer. We discovered some damage to the bumper (a little crooked ...

Small Villages in Mexico

... since we left California. A family consisting of a Mother, Father and their two daughters aging 5 and 7 made friends with us, and helped us alot through many of the bus changes we had to make, to ensure our backpack followed us on the same bus. We've so far found Mexican people to be very lovely. Every where I go in these ...

... rocks but they didnt look like diving rocks. The boat did have a glass bottom though and half way through a little chap swam underneath and fed fish with a lychi fruit for our enjoyment. I wanted to spear them all but couldnt really just jump in and do that what with all the kids watching. Gonna upload a few photos with this update as well so enjoy. Oh i think im going to grow a beard as well as i realised the other day ive never had one.

Mainland Mexico

... finding the only open trailer park was not difficult, with the help of 'ontheroadin.com' and their excellent maps. However the park was locked up for the night. Well, not quite.... the gate was only chained, not locked. In we went, and a restful, rooster infested night was enjoyed.

Marathon journey starts - Mazatlan to Los Mochis

... sleep. I felt so very proud when there was indeed a taxi at five the next morning to take me to the train station, ready for the Copper Canyon railway ride. The train goes from Los Mochis to Chihuahua, but I had booked to Creel (about two thirds of the way, as it is then quicker to get from Creel to Chihuahua by bus and I needed to get an overnight bus to Monterrey that same day. So, got on the train - an old fashioned American type train ...
