Feodor-Lynen-Strasse 1, (Formerly Novotel Hannover) Hannover, Lower Saxony, Germany, 30625, 49-511-95660
So I can't really remember much about Hannover besides that there was nothing to see, nothing to do, the weather was bad and the campsite was overpriced! Dont get me wrong, I'm sure its a lovely place with nice weather and during the summer when the gardens are open which is where Hanovers charm is supposed to be. Wasn't our cup of tea so we moved on rather quickly. Byebye Hanover....maybe next time!
Hannover, Lower Saxony, Germany ktchris... to walk back to the inner city. We found some cool statues and a river that runs around the city Then we got some ice cream and Manny got Chinese since we had to wait for the next train to leave for Braunshweig. We learned that the cities in Germany are very cool places to explore and all have a similar set up, Hannover residents love to shop! There was a huge strip underground of just shopping areas that connected to the Hauptbahnhof and the U-Bahn.
Hannover, Lower Saxony, Germany plcouttsiep... pushed the Punto up to 140km/hr on the Autobahn, alot of Audis and BMWs were flying past us at over 200km/hr..the road was good to drive on, although a lot of concentration was needed at the higher speeds. Day turned to night and the GPS settings went from day ones to night ones, which were less glarey. The stop for petrol and some food put us back to 8.30pm arrival in Hanover..and unless you were doing 120km/hr the whole time, you lost minutes! We stopped for a quick ...
Hannover, Lower Saxony, Germany jasndanArrived in Hannover 1 hour after take-off from Frankfurt. We were at maximum altitude a total of 2 minutes before descending again. We got a birds-eye view of the countryside, red house roofs and the many wind turbines.
Got my luggage, 2 on wheels and 1 duffel bag. We all had to drag our luggage to the bus which was a considerable distance. This was so ...
... What I find is extraordinary is that one car has pulled away from its' parking spot and driven all of 40 yards to public lavatories. Once relieved, the lad walked 5 paces back to his car, started it up and re-parked in his original position.

Last night wasn't too bad. A lot of screeching around in their cars and a visit around 3.00am by one who tried to leave most of his tyre rubber on the asphalt.

Today was one of the longest expected days of the itinerary, and so it turned out. We blasted along the motorway out of Belgium, then through the Netherlands th Neijmegan (sp?) and Arnhem, the "bridge too far" town. We looked at the Airborne memorial and the nice little information centre, then wandered over to the street market for fish & frittes. Then into Germany and our ...
Hildesheim, Lower Saxony, Germany robroyausArrived at Hannover right on time, nice medium size airport but even so the bags were on the carousel by the time we were through immigration, brilliant!
A quick toilet stop us like kids us older folk have to grab the opportunities when the arise, the out into the concourse to find the transfer driver holding up his Autostadt board.
After sorting out confusion about the wrong name and the wrong number of people with little German on my part and about ...
... blowing. No one else was visiting at that time of the morning. They demonstrated the kilns and the new modern ovens where glass sculptures are heated to 500 degrees F. before being carefully filed, sanded, re-shaped etc. with occasional re-heating in the furnace, until the attached stem used to dip the object in the kiln initially is now ready to be snapped off. It goes back into the kiln for this process and then allowed to cool down ready for further ...
Nienburg, Lower Saxony, Germany gwaymar... of that surgery in the future. Well, that's my life up to the minute. I wanted to write, as I may not have much access to internet this weekend. I am taking that trip I talked about, going to Rothenburg ob der tauber for the weekend, then going to Haßfurt to visit Dr. Eller and his dairy practice on Monday. I'll be back in Hannover Monday night, though. (For my last week here) :( Love to you all! Beth
