... high country. We will be staying one more night in Canada and then should be in Montana by day after tomorrow. We saw some beautiful elk and buffalo herds, but they were fenced in on ranches. Nothing else to write about. Only took pictures of wheat fields today. Sorry about the travelpod yesterday. I was having trouble uploading my pictures and then after sending, I noticed that I sent it twice. Oh well.
Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada schroederd... that scares me on a bike because they will jump out in front of you and if we hit a deer on a motorcycle - well, it's been nice knowing you all. ;)

Seriously though, I'd prefer to see the bigger, more sluggish animals that we aren't as much at risk of hitting. Still really hoping to get some good bear pictures, everyday I'm on the lookout.

Went to Tony Romas for ...
Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada bcgirl... but we will try to write at least every 3-4 days. From my parents cottage to Kyle's parents in Grande Prairie we traveled 5099.0 kilometers (according to the GPS.) Take care and we will be in touch again soon when we enter the next leg of our journey!!!!!

KnT
Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada knt... We met the new farm dog, six week old cutie Toby, and triplet calves (a first for the Cassity farm).

We also got Calvin's car road ready after a year of sitting idle for the long drive back to Calgary.

Stay tuned for some trip highlights and other ponderings.
Beaverlodge, Alberta, Canada calvin.latha... outside the park, at Hinton, we saw our first sign pointing to Alaska; our wonderful route 40 had reappeared, and scenic it indeed was. We travelled north through the foothills of the Rockies for a time, surrounded by billions of trees and much evidence of lumbering activity. Gradually the earth became lower and flatter, but still there were trees. Suddenly we were back in the prairie, Grande ...
Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada keralajs... I could kick myself for not doing the 'Alberta only’ rental car option. Then I could drive all over Jasper and Banff national parks, maybe even go down to Calgary or up to Fort McMurray. Gas is $4/gallon, but the car doesn’t drink much. As it is I’ll be lucky to get back to Edmonton within the limit, but if I’m looking good at Hinton, maybe I’ll do a back-and-forth to Jasper.
Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada hardiek... hauling all that meat the mile out through 2 feet of snow...Hercules Hercules! We then raced home and packed for my trip to the South Pacific. We drove to Calgary and Celina did her training stuff and then we went skiing in Banff for the 24th and 25th...it was amazing. The snow was great and while it was a bit cold (minus 20) the snow and good people ...
Banff, Alberta, Canada gunslinger22... make matters worse, Jo's in a terrible mood. She came down and demanded the phone, no hellos. Yulia thinks she is mad that we didn't go, and that we shouldn't tell her we went out last night, but I think something went wrong at the campsite and that is why she is annoyed. Last night we tried out another local bar, Triples, at first they didn't want to let Yulia in on account of her ID, but they finally relented. Drinks were ...
Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada aszliross... on the same team as the young guys, they tried to guess how old I was and covered the full range from 15-18, they were shocked when I told them I was 23. I just laughed, people always think I look younger. At the end of the afternoon I offered to pay for my share, but it was all taken care of, and the owner and Cedrick's host dad would hear nothing of it. On our way home, their host mom kept remarking about paying our own way next time-- but I'd ...

I am tired of always compromising, I am willing to be flexible, but it has to be reciprocal." Perspective changes everything. What seemed so important then is so trivial now, but then our whole focus was this program, and what we would be doing with it, for it, and getting out of it. I made some good contacts, but I never wrote, or offered to write, for the local paper. I taught InDesign, and had more ...
