We finally got an offer in on the house!! We had two showings this weekend and one of them put in an offer! We counteroffered today. Now we'll see if they accept! And if so, we'll be on our way to selling the house! And this person already has sold their house and is planning to close on Tuesday. So we don't even have a contingent offer on him selling his house. Man oh man oh man I hope that this works!
Just a quick note...
Jacqui and I made it back home from our awesome 16 day cruise. I'm gonna work on posting up all of the days' entries and pictures.
We still haven't sold our house yet... But on a good note, the house wasn't buried in snow when we got home either! I'm heading out to Brazil on Saturday, so we've got a lot to finish up before then.
... and this is a 16 day cruise...Rome, Florence, Monte Carlo, Barcelona, Cartagena, Gibraltar, Seville, Madeira Island, Ft. Lauderdale...for $800pp! Which includes meals and soft drinks. Now my flights will be covered by work because its cheaper to fly from Moscow-Rome, Ft.Lauderdale-Albany, than it is to fly direct from Moscow-Albany. Jacqui can fly from ALB-FCO ...
Glens Falls, New York, United States big_red_truckThe first part of the ride from the village of Lake George to Glens Falls is mostly on a bike trail. It was nice to have a shorter, much flatter ride the next day down to Easton Mountain, where I attended a retreat over Labor Day weekend.
... south down the woodsy east side of the lake. To get to the western shore of Lake George, I had to tackle the biggest climb of the trip up CR 11 - not recommended at the end of a long day - but spectacular views down across the lake at the summit. That night, I camped at a fantastic state campground right on the banks of the lake.
Someone up there must like us - it rained all day Saturday, but we had booked Friday and Saturday nights at the Glen Lodge so we didn't need to bike. Although, since we didn't have a car, we were getting cabin fever by evening, and biked down to Warrensburg to get some dinner. Otherwise, I got a lot of reading done.
The morning was chilly and overcast, but dry as we headed north. Hills increased as we approached the southern border of Adirondack Park, roads became more quiet, and the scenery more striking. This strenuous day which ended with a climb of over a mile and then a fast descent into the Warrensburg area.
... least until the next day :). Also, Parisians walk a lot and must walk up hundreds of stairs a day. Therefore, they can, and deserve, to bask in the fruits of their city. 3) America Regardless of what is going on in American politics, I am proud to be an American. I saw so many of the others in my program utterly renounce America, saying that France is so much better. However, I think that we should be able to look at these countries ...
Queensbury, New York, United States laurenobstThe night before I left, I took my bike and rode along the Jordan River Parkway near Saratoga Springs, watching a beautiful sunset go behind the mountains. Sometimes I like to just be alone.
Saratoga Springs, Utah, New York, United States alifebeinglived... I just got an email the other day from the company I am travelling with, and I get to go on an excursion to Rouen, the place where Joan of Arc was burned at the stake!!! Right up my alley... Anyway, that's it for now. Once I get settled in Paris, I am going to try to post regularly with pictures, stories, and experiences. There will definately be many!
