... is pretty, lots of trees, mainly conifers. We stop for lunch in Norrkoping, pronounced Nor-shopping, a city of 100,000 souls, large mills and a dam. Formerly a center for textile manufacture, it is now a college town; the only evidence of any activity that we saw, other than eating of course, was a heavily promoted Titanic exhibit next to the tourist bureau.

This morning we ate and visited some more before driving on to Tranas.  It took us about 4 hours and again, the drive was beautiful.  We took the highway this time for most of the trip so I can also say I have visited Goteborg, even if it was just to drive thru.  Karen's cousin met us at a Shell station and we are staying at her apartment.  When we got there, Nunne had other ...

We turned off the gps cause we really didn't have a destination in mind. But we really wanted to see the lakelands which lay north of us. This whole country is literally riddled with lakes and ponds. We stopped in a little lake town called Hjo to have a look and parked by a little old marina.
It wasn’t 5 minutes before a strange man knocked on our window as we sat there in the car. We thought he might tell us to move our car but he began to tell us ...
