    Loved the hotel

stayed in the hotel over a very busy weekend-- front desk was efficient and very friendly; pool is awesome!! they have great martini's at their restaurant. I would reccommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area. I have stayed several times and love this hotel

Great stay no matter what the others say!

my husband and I stayed here during another company function and had a great time! The front desk staff was very friendly and accommodating although my husband had made a mistake on our reservations. They fixed it right away and made us feel right at home. I loved the pool and the 2 fitness centers were amazing. It is a large hotel and confusing sometiimes, the rooms were great, the staff was wonderful and the location is PERFECT! We were walking distance to lots of restaurants, besides the 2 on property and the interstate was just about a mile away, so it was easy to get downtown and out west for shopping! (Added perk, it's just a couple miles from a Starbucks- and when you're craving a latte and in a different town, it's great to see a familiar sign!)

    Just ok....

My family stayed in this hotel from March 25 - 27, 2005. Let me preface our family by saying that we have stayed at quite a few hotels in the past...actually just returned from Mexico. We are not too particular, just want a clean, well kept hotel. We were only here for a relaxing weekend. No plans for the zoo or anything...just hanging out. We had a gift certificate for a two night stay, pizza party and free breakfast.

Overall, I would just consider it an average hotel with exceptional service, for the most part. We checked in on a Friday evening (during spring break week) and received pretty much the room we had asked for. It was not pool side but pool area. If I had to ask for another room, I believe I would ask for one that is a little farther away from the pool. It is pretty loud in that area and kids were in the pool until 11:00 pm and then again at 8:00 am. As far as the room goes, it was really just ok. The bathroom was the worst part. There was paper peeling off of the wall, the shower did not drain for about 10 minutes after the shower was over and the tiles were not the cleanest. The room itself was just your standard size...nothing fancy. The kids had brought the ps2 for some extra entertainment in the room and weren't allowed to hook it up because of a block they put on the tv...making sure you purchased the use of their games on the tv...kind of a real bummer! They of course were not able to watch any movies through it either. I suppose this isn't all that uncommon, we just had never ran into this.

The "holidome" area was pretty nice. Nice, big pool and seemed to be really clean. Never saw any "junk" floating or laying around poolside. The kids were well entertained for several hours over the two night stay. We also had a great time with the fooseball and mini golf. One thing we didn't like was having to go clear out to the front desk to check out the putters, balls, and towels. We thought that for this busy of a weekend they could have possibly used the area right outside the pool for checkout. The front desk is not real close to the pool. Wasn't a very good image of people checking into the hotel while kids/adults are waiting for towels, balls etc. Might be something they could think of for busy weekends. We did like the security people walking through the area frequently. Kept some of the "rough" housing to a minimum.

As far as food goes, we were really impressed by Benton's breakfast bar. We had excellent food and excellent service. I believe our waitress was Candi. She did a wonderful job of everything we needed. The food was all fresh and very good. The pizza/onion rings we ordered from service was just ok. Kind of funny how an order of $3.95 onion rings ended up costing us $8.00. Guess we could have been a little less lazy and gone to the restaurant. Oh well. Pretty cheap meal none the less.

Overall, I am glad we only spent the $50 on the gift certificate at a carnival for this reservation. I am not sure what the regular rate is but I would not have been pleased if it were $100 per night. They could definitely use some updating all over. Cleanliness in the rooms/hallways could be a little bit better...but nothing was terrible.

I would recommend checking out other hotels in the same price range if you are looking for somewhere to stay.

    Don't bother

This place is not very good for what they are charging. The room was not worth $100 a night. It was run down and the hallways were dirty.

On arrival, we were told that the heater in the pool was "broken" so the water temperature was not very comfortable for an indoor pool. After talking to some other guests, it turns out that the heater was also "broken" on their last visit a year ago. Odd. Perhaps it never works?

Find another place to stay, this one isn't worth the money.

    Berkshire Hathaway Weekend stay

Wow, what a terrific stay we had this past weekend while in Omaha for the Berkshire Hathaway shareholders meeting. I usually don't take the time to comment on hotel stays, but I must tell all the staff of the Holiday Inn Central were better than many 5 diamond hotels I've stayed at. The hotel was clean, well maintained and management was always visable.

This is my new hotel of choice.

    Thanks Holiday Inn.

    Not Clean !!!

I stayed at the Holiday Inn-Omaha for 2 nights in March,2004.

I was shocked upon arrival !!! The hallways had not been swept for quite awhile. The carpet in the elevators had not been swept in weeks !!!

This hotel is a true embarrasment to ALL Nebraskans.

Also, the hotel security is a joke..... I complained about kids knocking on the door and running away several times. The desk clerk laughed about it....

Stay clear of this hotel !!

I had a conference of 500 people that I booked at the Holiday Inn - everything was perfect!! The staff was incredibly friendly & helpful & every last minute thing I forgot they would provided to me. The sleeping rooms were wonderful, extremely clean & I especially liked Frank in set up - GREAT WORKER!

Staff are theives; stay was a nightmare

Left my business suit in the closet and it was stolen by housekeeping. Administration won't even look into it. Several promised phone calls were never returned. Neither I nor any one at my organization will EVER stay at a Holiday Inn again. No electical outlets for the desk in their 'business friendly' suites. They even put a lamp on the desk for asthetics, even though it couldn't be plugged in. The water temperature constantly fluctuated from frigid to scalding. The AC was stuck on max and couldn't be adjusted. What a nightmare! Stear clear of this one!

    Great Time in Omaha

thank you for a great conference. best rooms in Omaha, nicest staff in the US

    Don't do it...

If you like clean rooms and good service...RUN! I'm actually staying at this hotel as I write this. My personal favorite...a dirty washcloth folded up nicely in a fan shape and rehung as though clean!!

    Omaha zoo

A travel blog entry by jason934 on Sep 30, 2015

The goal of visiting Omaha was going to the supposed best zoo in the world. We arrived there at 10:30am and left at 4:15pm, shortly before they closed at 5pm. It's great having the GPS to navigate us around, and we had no issues getting there or back to the hotel. Firstly I think the zoo could be in the running for the best in the world, once their extensive construction is complete. There was a lot of construction, which really distracted from the experience. Also the zoo ...

... on the flight to Omaha due to supposedly bumpy flight (it wasn't that bad). It's definitely cooler in Omaha, with the temp in the high teens rather than the mid to late 20s we have had to date. We got a pretty good car, a Sonata, from National car rental, and I felt really comfortable straight away driving on right side of road and left side of the car. The previous experiences have made it easy to get back into being on the other ...

Gotta say a big THANK YOU to Cameron for lending me his 2 walkie talkies. They've been an easy way to communicate while we're driving. Can't imagine not having them along for the ride.

    Not a good start

... Our seats though together were against the back wall. I bought a foam pillow and it helped tremendously.

Of course I woke up about every hour to some freaky turbulence. Checking our flight path which would cycle through our scary location over ocean and time remaining to landing.

Oh and I didn't mention that Nick woke up with a cold, aches, and runny nose. So I wore a face mask on the planes!

Interviewed on KOIL about Obamacare and the nation's financial woes. I hope my answers showed how my 37 years in finance and business will be of great assistance in the U.S. Senate as we untangle the mistakes of the centrally-planned government of the last few decades.
