Today we left Shreveport and crossed the Mississippi River at Vicksburg. We turned off the interstate (I-20) shortly after crossing the river and went to the Vicksburg National Military Park. After a lengthy search for an allowed picnicking spot, we enjoyed a picnic and the beautiful day.

... pick it up Tuesday and ten drive northwest to Colorado. We will weave our way through the state, northward to Wyoming. Being native Mississippians, and it being mid July, we are looking to go to the cooler elevations... for two weeks.
I suggested the RV trip to the mountains and a cooler climate to take the place of going to Disney World in Florida this fall. Ethan is not yet 6 ...
After breakfast, we drove into Jackson to the Mississippi Arts Center where the International Museum of Muslim Culture is housed.
