At cookhouse lunch, Jeremiah told me that Jason bought a volleyball net so I’m pretty stoked about the idea of playing volleyball this season. I’m not good at it, but it’s the only sport I actually enjoy. Should be a good time!

... the local Shriners are running our show, selling the tickets, and taking the tickets at the gate. My official job title in Mountain Home is "Stroller Stopper". I am doing my part to keep our tent safe from errant strollers that are not allowed inside because of fire regulations per the fire marshal. So far today, that meant one stroller per show. Whew! It’s a tough job, but someone’s gotta do it…
... cache hidden in the state park. So we spent about a half hour wandering around the hiking trails until we (I) found it. While we were on the trails we also spotted several frogs and two turtles. Around 6:30pm we made it to our new destination for the night Village Creek State Park. We drove around around the park looking for a good camp site. ... and must hang out in the room). Then it's back to the stream but other people have arrived and taken the prime spot. A couple of families with little kids are having a great time. Bob & Marcia took us on a tour of Mountain Home and we ended up at Bull Shoals Dam - a dam on the White River built by the Army Corps of Engineers in 1951. The purpose of the dam was to prevent flooding and generate electricity. Pretty impressive! We watched a short film about the dam and toured the Visitor's Center. Very interesting.
