    ... this would happen, but I long for the flat and straight interstate highways through Iowa.

    For now, everything is good with my car. Have put on over 6,000 miles since leaving MN (if you're looking for a breakdown of miles driven: Me: all of them, Mom: none of them). Runs great with plenty of passing power, just using a little extra oil. The Monte and I are ok with that.

    At first the land was hilly, then it got very flat and we were again in farm country. I wish we were better able to identify what we were seeing, but we did identify more olive and almond trees, sunflowers…fields and fields of them…corn, wheat, grapes and I don't know what else.
