    Sampled "liver mush" for brekkie, with bacon and toast, a great start for the day. Then we off from Dev's but we will see her again at Andrew's in June.

    Drove across North Carolina and into South Carolina. This is the "Bible Belt" (South-East and South-central USA) and has seemingly hundreds of huge churches, mostly Baptist, even in tiny villages.

    Arrived at Congaree NP and met Dev's friend, Ranger Carol. She told us we could only camp in the NP if we had ...

    ... try and clean off driveways and sidewalks. We got off the road in NC for lunch at Cracker Barrel, gas and a trip to Walmart for more windshield washer. It was around 25 at this point and we are so glad we wore boots, ski jackets and scarves...it was slippery and cold. Jerry drove the whole way and the sights through North Carolina were amazing...the storm was an ice storm there and the ice was relentless...on power ...

    ... Boardwalk Trail. Although most of the elevated boardwalk was closed, a short section that leads to an overlook on Weston Lake was still open, so we were able to go out there for views of the oxbow lake. There was Spanish moss hanging from trees along the shore making for a beautiful scene. From here, we got on Weston Lake Loop Trail and hiked along the edge of Weston Lake and through more sloughs and even saw some ...

    ... OH and they had bought a home in FL...on their way to furnish it. Another guy we talked to was from Salem, OH. He sat with us and we learned he is a trucker who was taking his daughter to FL to college.     ... allocated to states and how states allocate their monies to interstate highways. The right lane of I 95 is a succession of patches. I couldn't cheat and drive close to the left side of my lane because the traffic was so heavy and I couldn't cheat on the right side because there were potholes just to the right of the white line. Potholes that were 2-3 feet long and 6 inches deep.
