... REDWING BLACKBIRDS which pretty much covers the sightings on this leg of the trip.
It is really hot today and we just drive like mad to get further north and to escape the relentless unfurling of this flat cropland.
A campground in downtown Lloydminister affords us a nights stay, with free showers and WiFi so we can post on the blog and email friends and family.
And now we are back in Alberta. According ...

Out of bed and breakfast finished by 7:30 AM. Had my last chat with Trish's cousins, then off to the YMCA for some badly needed exercise. Spent about 1:15 minutes, then got wheels re torqued. Had a great drive mostly along Hwy 43, and detoured around Grand Prairie on Hwy 59. I could not believe the amount of industry in GP. ...

Just arrived at Trish's cousins home in St Albert. It was sunny all day, and not too hot. Stopped in Lloydminister for coffee and fuel, after my gps took me for a drive down 40 KMs of dirt road. Most intersections do not have stop or yield signs as you can see 100 KMs in any direction. Scenery was beyond words, particularly before leaving SK. The road was 4 lanes all the ...

... excited about!!! I will be home for 2 months around March/April/May. I was fortunate enough to find a $280 flight from Melbourne to Honolulu and then a flight from Honolulu to Edmonton for $210. Super stoked to be getting back to Canada for so cheap. And as soon as I get back to Canada I think we are going to the states- Washington DC and Baltimore, with Jon's friends. They are all keen on the baseball so we will watch some Blue Jays ...

... I didn't feel too good later into the night, I ended up being crook over the toilet bowl and piked it on the couch. I was crook again in the night and again the next day. Everyone was having a laugh and making Aussie jokes and I was trying to join in and laugh with them and hide the fact that i felt shithouse. But i was buggered.  For boxing day, Jon and I were meant to go down to the lake with Shawn and Lindsay for a couple days but i was out to it on the couch most of the day. ...
