First day on Alaskan Highway

... the traffic thinned and the road became rougher. Dozens of oil and gas operation were visible along the way. We especially found the sign "no stopping...poisonous gas" interesting. Most of traffic is oil related trucks. There are huge portable dormitories along the road for workers.

Along the way we passed Sasquatch Crossing which promised daily Sasquatch sighting.

We had our first bear sighting!

We are settled in for the night in Fort Nelson among the oil and gas workers that have filled all the motels all along our way. Great folks with hockey and Washington Nationals caps. They are on a great push to complete things before the companies go into a two week shut-down to convert from winter to summer production. Another world.
