Today was a cool and very wet day in the Bismarck area. We toured the State Capitol building including the Roughrider Gallery...portraits of famous North Dakotans. We also toured the beautiful North Dakota Heritage Center. Due to the rain we passed on our planned Lewis & Clark Riverboat Cruise and headed to Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park where we toured in the rain then happily stopped to camp for the night. ... Park. The worst so far. Just outside of Bismark, ND. Turned out to be not much more than an exit off of the freeway. Several permanent trailers here (we felt so sorry for them) and lots of freeway traffic noise, but not much else. There wasn't another campground for MANY miles to come or we would have kept on going. Oh well.
