Drove 320 miles from Columbia, MO to Santa Claus, Indiana. As we were driving through St. Louis, we stopped at the Arch, which was right near the St. Louis Cardinals baseball stadium. Briefly visited the museum under the Arch, and then had lunch at Caleco's. Stayed at an adorable campground/RVpark called Lake Rudolph in Santa Claus, Indiana, which as you can guess, is a Christmas-themed ...

Arriving in French Lick is such a surprise. You're driving, driving, driving....then all I a sudden you round the corner ...there sits the most magnificent building you've ever seen. West Baden. So beautiful and so elegant. We went a little further to the French Lick Springs (where the Casino is located). We had planned to eat at the buffet/cafeteria but they stopped serving at 2 pm. So we decided to go back to the rotunda, West Baden.

The original post office was also restored to its original form. We tried twice to get into the museum, but found it closed both times, but ...

... a living historical farm, and trail of 12 stones.

At the welcome center, there is a recreation of a typical meeting hall (community/area church) of the time, a small museum with artifacts of his life, a room in which local quilters come once a week to work on quilts similar of the time, and offer a short film describing the time that Abraham Lincoln, his father (Thomas), mother (Nancy), and sister (Sarah), and his step-mother (Sarah Bush), ...

... the most profusely decorated cavern, with speleothems of the highest quality".
We wound through formation filled rooms past huge flowstone deposits on a leisurely 60 minute tour.
This cave is known for its sodastraw formations, delicate helictites and slender totem pole stalagmites. Fascinating cave history associated with this tour includes the ...
