With The Loneliest Highway in America now behind me, I took a much needed day off in Ely, Nevada. It is what they call out here, a 'Big Town'. There are 2 main streets, a few small casinos and a bunch of run down motels that wouldn't cut it elsewhere. I stayed in one of them and I honestly feel that my already weather worn tent is much cleaner. I felt the need to sleep on top of the comforter with all the lights on and the tv going to ...

How ironic is it that my 1st overnight stop is similar to my brother's name Eli?! Except for Ely is pronounced as Eee-lee. I think mom must have planned that one. This place is bursting at the seams with character ...

... things on earth. At least two of the trees were dated to around 3200 yrs old. Boggles the mind. Another mile up takes you to what, until recently, was a small, one-of-a-kind glacier. It is now a rock glacier but still interesting. Only large wildlife spotted were deer and turkey. A park with a lot of variety, but be warned- the only real civilization is about 100 miles away. Now back to Utah for its last two Nat. ...

So sorry for falling behind, but we have not had much service and Nevada is even worse for Verizon. I am in town (Ely, NV), doing wash, talking to welders about some work on my RV and checking around for vets. I want to have them take a look at a swelling on Bart's leg, he is not lame, but I just want it checked. I rode on July 4th & 5th in the Schellbourne mountain range and this is one of ...
