Too many problems
To start with the good point - the breakfast is good, and the rooms are relatively well appointed.
Unfortunately, there are too many problems. Not having a car, we went to the hotel on the promise of a shuttle service from the subway services. This was immensely unreliable and invariably full. Every time we used it, we waited for between 25 and 90 minutes as successive shuttles don't turn up when they say they will, and you have to fight your fellow guests for a seat on it. When I complained to the driver, he was polite, but clearly not in a position to do anything about it. I complained to the hotel, after standing in the dark and the pouring rain for 75 minutes in what my guide book said was the most dangerous part of Boston, the reception staff member I spoke to was rude, disinterested, did not apologise, said 'don't know' and walked straight into the office to hide.
When we stayed, we had a reasonable amount of rain, which somehow splashed under the roof guttering, and soaked the carpets. The a/c is useful and effective, but sleeping with it on would be rather similar to sleeping next to the runway at Boston Logan airport.
The door lock on our room didn't really work properly (although the staff assured us that it did), and the hotel has any number of external doors that anyone could walk through.
It's a pity, because it could be a nice hotel.
The Ramada hotel is a great value for your money. My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel and everything about it was great. The shuttle service is excellent, the drivers are very knowledgable and made our trip easier. The rooms were cleaned daily and smelled fresh every day during our stay. The front end staff was helpful and suggested things to do and see for us.
Contenental breakfast was a plus!!!
Right next door they have a bowling alley 24 hours to hang out all night.
A very delightful experience and a money saver as well.

Fair place - Not the Best - Not the Worst.
The room was basically clean and toiletries replenished daily. Beds were comfy. Shuttle bus service was superb, the drivers were friendly, knowledgable, and efficient. Getting into town was easy. Checking in and out went smoothly and quickly.
My only gripes were the hallways smelled stale and humid. It's because the A/C vents went out into the hallways from the rooms. As long as you kept the a/c on and windows closed, your room was fine. Also, select employees were rather more hospitable to certain guests only.
Not worth the money
The one good thing about this hotel was the shuttle service. It was convenient and the drivers were friendly and helpful.
Otherwise, I had a miserable stay. The corridors smelled bad- like cleaning solution or gasoline. The room, which overlooked I-93, was noisy and not very clean. The air conditioner alternated between blasting frigid air and doing nothing, so the room was sometimes cold and sometimes hot, but never comfortable. The people in the room next to mine were partying until about 3:30 A.M. The breakfast area and the internet access computer in the lobby were dominated by Ramada employees- not working, just lounging.
I wouldn't stay again.
Ramada's Bait and Switch
The Boston Ramada kinda looked like a cheap motel that they tried to convert into a mid range hotel in a strange kinda half baked way by enclosing the outside and courtyard pool area. It did have a fairly decent shuttle to the subway van but it was always full. Upon arrival I asked for a king size bed which the clerk said they didn't have in non-smoking. So I asked about one in smoking. He ignored my request and gave me a double. I presented him with an ad that I picked up at the state welcome center for $69 (it said nothing about 1st night only). He said it would be $129 for the second day (averaging $99 the normal walk-in rate). I called the second day and found the rate to be $99. So I told the manager that it looked like they played a bait and switch game with me. He gave me some nonsense about availability and charged us $99 for the second night . The very least he could have done. So BEWARE when staying at RAMADA. It's not the first time they've played games with me (but it will be the last) so this looks like it's a company policy.
Worst hotel ever.
This is an awful place. Where to begin? First, it is located between 2 expressways. The hotel smells like a gas station throughout, with the exception of the lobby. Which is why the hotel props all the doors and windows open. (Unbeknownst to me, it is in a terrible neighborhood and safety was a concern not to mention you freeze walking to your room.) Between the traffic and the hotel noise, it is extremely loud. Additionally, I asked for a non smoking room and was given 2 smoking rooms, complete with ashes. (I had to move out of the first one because of the flying any infestation.) This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at, and that includes a former prison turned pensione in Prague.
Great value, love the shuttle!
I booked this well in advance direct with Ramada and got a good deal, it just seemed so much better value than other hotels in the Boston area.
The shuttle service to the T was excellent, very regular. I had envisioned having to ring the hotel to be picked up, but instead found the service was scheduled, one bus every half hour. There's a Star Market by the T stop, so if you just missed one there was an opportunity to pick up food, beer or whatever.
Room was fine, plenty of space. Toiletries replenished every day unlike some hotels. Only gripe here - the heating. This came courtesy of a rather noisy, old-fashioned AC/heating fan by the window. It was so noisy I had to turn it off at night. This made sleeping uncomfortable, as the room got very cold and the bedding was very thin and light.
Breakfast was OK, just beware of pre-toasted waffles, on the last day mine were cold and inedible!
Overall pretty good for a motor inn, non-drivers are very well looked after, and the surrounding area is pretty safe to walk around.
We had booked 2 nights in late July 2003 over the net. We stayed one and escaped then. The reasons: Very unfriendly staff at the reception, but even more the design of the hotel: almost all rooms have windows to the inside aisles only. All air condition exhaust blow into this aisles, no chance to have a window to the outside that opens. For the above reasons, the rooms are very dark and if you open your door, you get all the smell from the inside building and the exhaust of the air conditions. The only place to get fresh air is at the pool. The location of the hotel is right in between major roads, so it is noisy and if you want to go anywhere by foot, you got to cross those major roads. No walkways or pedestrian crossings. The pool is nice but always too busy with the many people staying there. I am not claustrophobic, but at 4:30 am after the first night I was desperately looking on the net for another hotel. If you can put up with the above, price is ok, amenities as well. Shuttle service is great, but all together it takes 35 minutes to get into town. For us it was a nightmare!
We went in June 2003 and had 3 rooms. We should have left the minute we saw the room.
Great hotel, fantastic staff, nice location and prices
This hotel, I have to say, was one of my most enjoyable stays away from home! The staff really go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and relaxed. I was in Boston on business at the Boston Bayside, and with all the stress that goes along with being on the road, I knew I had no worries with this hotel. They went that extra mile to make sure that not only did my stay go well, but also my business. Any and all of the shipments I was waiting on, they not only accepted, but made sure to contact me so I could bring the lastest sales to the exposition center. They even had their shuttle driver bring me the packages imediately.
They have shuttle service to and from the airport and to the JFK train station, a wonderful delux continental breakfast that is included in the price, a business center with Internet access at any time of the hour, and a very cozy sitting room where you enjoy a fireplace and nice music to relax. I was most impressed with the choices of 3 restaurants, one which was a fine dining and a lounge. My company was so pleased with my report to them on this hotel, we have decided to use the Ramada Inn for all of our Boston based business stays. Two thumbs up and five stars!!!
