Asheville is another "Mountain City" with lots of History and Charm and its Roots are from the Moonshiners, Bootleggers and Lumberjacks of the late 1800's. Franklin is just over an hour drive from Asheville so we are leaving early in the morning so we can go to church with them and then spend the afternoon together.

Day #5 was a success, yet not without adventure. Until tomorrow.....

... quick, but once you moved out of the shade and into the sun life was happy again.

The second pitch was BAD ASS. It was up this perfectly set chimney with super awkward holds and angles but after about 20 feet up and contorting your body a million different ways you reach the opening. One second you feel like you are deep in a cave and the next you have come out of ...

... out the quirky shops and people. We even gave a woman (with a genuine Southern accent, finally) a ride to an AA meeting at a local church. Southern people are so friendly...
The drive back was so nice. Good talks, beautiful scenery (thanks to a wrong turn), and it finally cooled down. We ended the night with some BBQ, at a place that was truly hopping. It was so much fun. ...
