In a word, the flight back sucked! Leaving Melbourne at 11:00am meant no chance of sleeping between there and LAX. We both dozed a bit, but that was about all. Once we landed, that was a whole nother level of suckiness! More long customs lines that lead to about a mile or more hike around the airport terminals. Although if I were stranded in Istanbul for a day, I would probably find a cheap hotel and go explore instead of hanging in the airport, if possible.
