... Enjoying white beaches and rough seas, the TV in our room and the glistening blue pool. We avoided expensive temptations by buying pot noodles and beers from the supermarket - fridge and kettle was included in our room.
Now we are well rested for the oncoming jungle adventures and excited to come eye to eye with Borneo's most famous inhabitants: Orangutans!
Today was such an adventure! As a precursor, lets just say that the
weather has definitely taken a turn for the worse and has become very
deserving of its epithet the “rainy season.” Although I think
they should consider changing it to the “windy rainy season.”

We had heard Maya Bay was busy with day trippers but God was that an understatement. There must have been 200 people there when we arrived…and it’s a small beach! Nevertheless, it provided a good laugh amongst us and our fellow Canadians and we bonded over a delicious Thai dinner and some cold Singha’s before setting off to Thailand’s west side to explore the karsts in Railay ...
