Lovely little place on Rat Vitti (i think that's how you spell it). The staff leave you well alone which is great, the setting is lovely and it's near loads of good stuff so all good in that respect. THe rooms are a little spartan but hey, I didn't come to Thailand to spend all day in my room.

... for them because of the cheapness and quality of the gold. A tall order, made taller by giving us $60 (Aussie) to complete the purchase. After entering a jewellers and being quoted 5500 baht ($200A) we began to wonder about the reality of the task. We have since found out that Thai's don't deal in anything under 22-23 carat, which is apparently about 93% pure (Western Countries about 67%). They also measure their gold by the Baht (not to ...

... old town, for a mere 20 baht, to then catch the main Doi Suthep Sorngtaaou up to the temple. Sounds good! Alighting at the bus stop, I was gestured towards a bench and told to sit down and wait... for another nine people to show up wishing to also head up to Doi Suthep.... OH, GREAT. If I wanted to leave immediately, and be taken alone, it would cost me 500 baht... so I obviously chose to simply wait it out, popping in and out of the nearby 7/11 (Thailand's convenience store ...

... different stretching movements. I felt awesome after the massage.

Next destination was Ko Phangang for the full moon party. We booked our hotel ahead after hearing from other travellers that we should. Once we got there we realized that we didn't need to make a reservation and that we could have found a cheaper place since it was low season. Our hotel was nice though and it had a very comfy king size bed. We loved the bed which made it worth every penny. It also had a pool. ...

... Coming in overhead was a thunderstorm that had been chasing us for the better part of an hour. Ten minutes into our bamboo ride, it poured like a typical hollywood jungle scene. Within a minute, I was completely soaked. The torrential downpour led to a calm river become slightly more exciting. Our raft went over small rapids and rocks. Tomorrow we bus up to the cult backpacking town of Pai on a road with over 800 mountain ...

... escaped from its night enclosure and it wasnt very happy but after 12 hours they managed to get the elephant back to its area of the park using his family and food. The dog was okay in the end! Our morning duty was to get banana trees which thankfully was a lot less work than last time; there were no ants and it didnt take as long. Whilst we were waiting to be picked up by the mini bus a man came over and offered to show us his ...
