Lovely little place on Rat Vitti (i think that's how you spell it). The staff leave you well alone which is great, the setting is lovely and it's near loads of good stuff so all good in that respect. THe rooms are a little spartan but hey, I didn't come to Thailand to spend all day in my room.

... to the river to bathe the elephants, we got to bathe a baby elephant and it was funny. They love eating and all they have to do to keep them still is to put a big bowl of fruit in front of them! We just had the best day at the park but it was sad to hear all the stories of abuse, I don't know who could harm these lovely peaceful animals! Anyway after the day was done we all got back in the minivan and headed back to Chaing Mai. We ...

... and chicken soup, Thai green curry and Pad Thai. And then thoroughly enjoyed eating it!!! It was great to see all of the different ingredients they use to create that wonderful taste! I liked the fact I could control the amount of spice that went into my dishes. They gave us a recipe book so I'm ready to try it out on you all when I get home! That evening we had a wander around the night market - it was huge and full of amazing baggy hareem type trousers, gifts and food. I ...

... the monster truck to head back to the start point for round 2 of the lazy river tubing.
We had another chilled out hour or so, this time with the not so fun moment when I lost my sunglasses after they were knocked off my head by a tree and were nowhere to be found.
We enjoyed the rest of the tubing day and left the place feeling totally chilled out.
We were taken back to Chiang Mai where we changed then headed out to check out the night market. We had a look ...

... retreat into the bathroom unnoticed. It was now a 2 pronged attack, both my forehead and abdomen taking strain. I ducked out and made it to the commode, and sat down in haste. It was just in the nick of time as a it sounded like the rainy season had arrived early. Good thing the toilet was situated a ways from where everyone else was by now assembling at the table to begin their main course. After all was said and done I noticed the sign saying not to deposit ...

... somehow. Maybe when I no longer had a million things going on around me to juggle, I finally had the space to begin to see me, and I wasn’t sure what the heck I was seeing anymore. So…this path was not some urgent one by any means. Russ and I are doing great, I still love many things about our time here in Thailand, and I wasn’t off on some religious quest that I could latch onto to manage the psychological and physical effects of aging. I was simply seeing ...
