... however, the surrounding countryside is pretty - vineyards everywhere and distant snow covered mountains. We detoured to Desenzano on the banks of Lake Garda. Clearly a summer holiday town but a beautiful town situated on the shores of a huge lake. The water is crystal clear. Before wandering through the castle directly opposite our apartment, called Castle Vecchio. It was so old and amazing to be able to walk through and see Verona from this view. The river and buildings combo was incredible. We stopped for a few ...

... bus and found our seats. After a few minutes of waiting for any final passengers to board the bus doors closed and we started making our way back toward the coastal town of Trieste - Italy. As dawn rose and the sun started to peak over the mountain ridges we watched the pristine Slovenian countryside bathe in the golden rays. The same beautiful corn fields and wild mountain peaks that we witnessed on the bus ride up but absorbing every second of it knowing that ...
