... 2nd floor in a glass domed coach. The seats were like the most comfortable reclining chairs and when I first sat down I thought I could easily take a nap - no way- I couldn't close my eyes for a minute- it was too beautiful. aren't you all proud of me - 2 blogs in one day. Alas no pictures- the forecast was for rain all day but it didn't even start until about 7pm by which time we were exhausted. However, it was very overcast all day- lovely for walking around, but we couldn't get any good pictures- the mountains looked like grey against grey and the ocean looked the same. It was beautiful for us to see but we couldn't capture it.

... today. we are jsut going to walk around ankorage, relax and try to get more or less onto local time. Time - now that will be hard to adjust to here- by the time we got our luggage, got to our shuttle,got to the hotel, put out bags down ad went out to get something to eat it was about 10pm and it was broad daylight out!!!!!! we finally got to bed around 11 local time a nd it was still broad daylight! ... of day in their college life. And grateful that my subsequent journey away from that school has ended up being more than just OK.. My life is incredibly rich and satisfying. Our tour guide was/is an old friend of Betsy’s and is on the faculty of the Divinity School. Her dedication, scholarship, spirit and integrity is a true gift to that University .
