After spending half of the day under the hot sun and showered by the tropical humidity all we dream about is some Singha beer to recharge the batteries. Ice cream is also nice to supply our bodies with sugar and good emotions. We explore some more beautiful temples almost until sunset and head towards our next destination Sukhothai, around 350 km away. We arrive at midnight.

Next morning at 6 AM ...

Before visiting the park we went to the museum, it was full of lots of interesting things that would have probably been more interesting if we had a little background knowledge. The park itself is pretty cool, there are some really lovely temples and lots of Buddhas. Some are not as elaborate and interesting to ...

Thailand - Sukothai - old capital Dec 15-16

A travel blog entry by gandntrips on Dec 15, 2013

... feel at home. The town is on the ruins of the original Thai capital. We spend several hours wandering around the remains of temples, Buddhas, and Stupas in a beautifully maintained park. The ancient walls of the old city enclose the park. Afterwards, we take a walk thru the town. It is full of guesthouses, some backed up to a rather uninspiring river. We bought light-bulbs at a 'lightbulb-beauty product-condom-flashlight' store to replace the red one we were surprised to ...
