Didn't leave the hostel until midday then caught the MRT to Kanjii for SN$2.50 which took about 50mins and then the number 160 bus from there to the border {SN$1.50}. Considering how efficient and organised downtown Singapore had been the border formalities where a joke in comparison. I had to queue up and wait for about an hour to be processed as there were only half a dozen immigration desks operating which was really ...

... now more of a torrent; despite this a quick skinny dip was the order of the day, far too early for any tourists! This time I saw the freshwater turtle, I also saw the biggest water monitor lizard to date and a small dead snake! Another thirty minutes to run back and I was well and truly spent, the route is very undulating and the humidity high. Just back in time for brekkers, although too late for the full English (joking :-))

... town. Fortunately it's reasonably cheap here and despite being Ramadan there are restaurants serving food (Indian and Chinese). Plus we have working internet for once...

If you find yourself in a similar position, or even plan to stay here, there are numerous hotels along the main road which are just a short walk between the bus station and the jetty, so conveniently located... just take your pick.

    ... all afternoon.

This was a sign of the week to come.

Everyone was so friendly and we ate at Tioman Cabana where there was plenty of beer and delicious food, along with a good chat.

On our second day we went snorkeling and, thinking we knew better, we ignored the warning of getting burned and came out of the sea incredibly pink and warm, t-shirts and shorts next time!

Unfortunately on the third day the weather was not so good, ...
