... location. It's 29 degrees and a little overcast, this has no effect on the crystal clear warm water which is truly magical. ... promised us, but a normal 4 people in a row bus, making stops every hour or so, even to pray.... - 10 min taxi ride to the ferry station - more than 3 hours waiting for the ferry to leave - close to 2 hours on the ferry - 1.5 hours waiting after the ferry dropped us, for our little hotel boat to come and pick us up ( as there are no roads on this island) .......and then we finally arrived, and it felt like heaven compared to all our previous hotels..... ... now more of a torrent; despite this a quick skinny dip was the order of the day, far too early for any tourists! This time I saw the freshwater turtle, I also saw the biggest water monitor lizard to date and a small dead snake! Another thirty minutes to run back and I was well and truly spent, the route is very undulating and the humidity high. Just back in time for brekkers, although too late for the full English (joking :-))
... bit surprised when we told him that we had decided to move on.
It was fun whilst it lasted, but another 3 weeks of standing around and drying glasses was definitely not going to do my sanity any good.
Fingers crossed our next helpx is more successful, bring on the SCUBA tanks we are off to count some sharks.

... br> Final day and unfortunately rain but as we were pink anyway this probably prevented more damage. We had a long wait for the ferry so played vocable (a cheap imitation of scrabble) and were treated with incredible hospitality even though we had already checked out of our hostel.
On the ferry back to Mersing, feeling a little blue at leaving the Tiomans our spirits were lifted by a strange Japanese football v martial arts film!
On to Cherating!
