... we did some of our own sight-seeing. We strolled the boardwalk Malecon and decided we could not leave Ensenada without trying some fish tacos. After all, fish tacos were invented in Ensenada, so we had to splurge to see what the rage was all about. The taco stands back onto a large open air fish market (Mercado Del Mariscos) which serve the vendors with fresh fish straight from the ocean. Fish Tacos are ...
La Jolla, Mexico mikeandger... Again, being on a budget and having more than enough food in our van to last us, we did not indulge in anything but were grateful for the sampling of churros we received. A churro tastes just like elephant ears, funnel cakes, doughnuts, etc. and we were glad not to have spent our precious dineros. The vendors sure do have interesting and humorous ways of getting you to part with your money though. Here are a few classic ...
La Jolla, Mexico mikeandgerWell we found it! The perfect spot to spend the rest of the month. It's about 12 miles north of Cabo San Lucas in a great place on the beach where the waves crash all night. So far we have been "moving in" here and getting situated enjoying sunsets on teh ...
San Jose Del Cabo, Mexico tambrogdonAn exciting day! We crossed the border at Mexicali without incident...mostly hand gestures and dirty looks from the Mexican customs guys (stupid gringos). Anyway it was a beautiful drive west across the Sierra Juarez Mountains to Tecate (yes they make the beer there) and then south to the winery region where we are camped now. Check the pics. We are camping at a place called Rancho Sordo Mudo. It is a school for Mexican deaf ...
Valle de Guadelupe, Mexico tambrogdonWell the highlight of Mexico was the hostel in El Sauzel near Ensendad. After wandering around the village streets for a hour and nearly getting attacked by 5 massive dogs, red hair is strange in Mexico and calling the hostel from some house - Maria came out to find me. I was delighted to see this stranger as my bag pack now weighed twice as heavy, remembering I am carrying tortilla makers for mother hen round the country. Well Maria's, backpacker ...
El Sauzel, Mexico janetmorgan... bed, even if they were cruising pretty fast on the cliff side highways. We finally made it to Ensenada around 1ish and got to board the ship! It is hands down the nicest thing I have evvvver been on. All I could thing of was- I get to live here for the next three months! I had about 3 hours to explore unpack and hang out until stuff started happening. At 5 we pulled away from the pier and started out trip around the ...
Ensenada, Mexico ambers... I'm heading in the opposite direction in search of my lost luggage. My US Airways flight was grounded in Toronto after the plane's engine failed. After we'd boarded. Twice. The upshot: flying business class on American Airways instead. The downside: not having my luggage arrive in San Diego on the same flight. On the Other Side ("el Otro Lado", as Mexicans call the US) a trolley system takes passengers into the heart of San Diego. My ...
Ensenada, Mexico darkstarWe stayed in good all ensenada of baja california in Mexico. went right through the border like a breeze. Very interesting, looked poverty stricken, later talked with some people who said how, they make their homes look awesome from the inside out. Looking at the outside might look like nothing, but the inside is full of beautifull tiles and such.
Ensenada, Mexico kailastarlite... tv/splash/cl_win ners.htm Then the shooters... In Mexico you don't just take a shot - the shot takes you. The waiter forces the shot down then shakes your head followed by flipping your legs over your head... And the ladies well that's even worse. Greg had a list of 10 things he had to accomplish for the batchelor party that he readily worked through... The rest of us drank away and enjoyed the chaos.
Ensenada, Mexico travisdgWe went on a very bumpy ride to Ensenada. When we got there we visited a winery, and Mum and Dad tasted some wine. After that we took a bus back to America, Los Angeles. Raymond's Travel Page
