17 April Woke up at 6:30 to catch the 8:30 bus to Lake Taupo, New Zealand's largest lake - and one of the country's most popular tourist destinations. The bus ride was only two hours long - the shortest of the trip so far. Having 3 days off work in a row (well Thomas did, I was still an unemployed bum at this point!) we decided to hire Nancy and head on up to Lake Taupo for a couple of days. 04/02/09: Voyage de Rotorua à Taupo, autre ville de la région de Central Plateau, située elle aussi au bord d'un lac. L'après-midi, Trystan (un ingénieur canadien, qui travaille chez Contact Energy en Nouvelle-Zélande) me fait visiter la centrale géothermique de Wairakei. Je suis excitée comme un petit garçon de 10 ans qui irait visiter le cockpit d'un avion... Puis en fin d'après-midi, je découvre Taupo, ses grandes rues, son immense lac (j'ai eu un coup de foudre pour Lake Taupo, c'est sûr....

Na een busrit van zo'n 6 uur zit ik dan nu in Taupo: de stad die berucht staat om zijn skydive en bungee (eigenlijk vooral vanwege de errug lage prijzen).
Dus eenmaal raden waarom ik hier een nachtje blijf...

Na een vermoeiende nacht in een te warme slaapkamer, in het bovenste stapelbed en met te luidruchtige kamergenoten, moest ik er op tijd uit: om 10 uur werd ik verwacht klaar te staan voor mijn lift naar het Skydive Taupo team.
