Decided to stay in Cairns again and met up with some more friends to sample some more drinks offers at the Woolshed (no dancing on tables this time around tho) and then chilled the next day...we did in our wisdom decide it was time to go for a run or something so we landed upon Sarge's Boot Camp at the Lagoon - sounds hard right? Yep ...

... to pick his pockets ... Fortunately I am not the jealous type anyway. The Flying Doctors was interesting, but the funniest thing was that they had a map which measured the Northern Territory as at least 4 times the size of Great Britain. Take that, you poms!! ;)

Darwin & Kakadu

Darwin turned out to be pretty interesting. We chilled out a few days (one day we did not even leave our air conditioned hotel room...) before going on the trip to Kakadu ...

... when in Rome, so decided to try it. It was SO TRUE! It tasted like you just ate a lemon. Who'd have known ants butts could taste so good?!

Tonight, it's a Lauren-Katinka reunion, perhaps a visit to the lovely night markets here, then off to Alice Springs, the southernmost part of the Outback, tomorrow morning. This trip is going to take a whole new turn when I get there - undoubtedly sprinkled with a few more meatheads along the way!!

... mit der Zeit ziemlich kalt wird genossen wir unser erstes Schnorchelerlebnis in vollen zuegen und konnten neben zahlreichen Fischen uns Korallen auch einen (kleinen) Hai bewundern. Kurz gesagt ist ein Schnorcheltrip ganz klar ein Muss fuer jeden der einmal nach Australien kommt. Leider konnten wir ohne Unterwasserkamera keine gescheiten Bilder von den Korallen bzw. Fischen machen, sorry.
Von Cairns aus ging es dann weiter in den ...

Having not yet seen a single Koala, Kankaroo, Wallabie, Cassowary, Dingoe, or local wildlife, we thought it best to see them all in one spot :)

A great little zoo with shows going all day in different exhibits and a HUGE kangaroo enclosure that you can enter to feed and walk around with them!

... tonight. Apparently they go for around $25 a piece. Later on we went to Hartley's Creek Crocodile Farm where they breed crocs primarily for fashion apparel and secondarily for meat. I have some pretty cool pics where they were feeding right next to us outside the boat we were on. It was pretty amazing stuff and the snapping sound they make when they come down with full force makes you glad your not dangling at the end of ...

Hi All We arrived in Cairns 3 days ago . we are staying in a lovely resort Palm Cove very nice accommodation. First day we relaxed and swam in the sea just 50m from our apartments the weather is lovely every day 33c . We did two wonderful full day trips. the first one was to the Great Barrier Reef..It took about 3 hours to get there . We snorkeled for 1.5 hours really tiring . Fantastic ...
