Trip to Devonport in the sunshine
Saturday 8th December
Today the weather has been lovely, blue sky and sunshine. We took the short ferry ride across the harbour to Devonport on the North shore. Nearly all the buildings here have heritage status as they are constructed out of Kauri wood and built by earlier settlers. There are some beautiful (and very expensive) properties here and the shops are worth a visit. We took a short minibus tour of the area which was very interesting as the ...
And it Begins...
... sleeves (and several without shoes – kind of strange) I figured I was safe with one layer. Not the case. Then there’s the problem that neither of us remember the conversion of Celsius to Fahrenheit. We also have to brush up on our metric conversions and tomorrow Mike will be driving on the left side of the road for the first time. Besides that, things are pretty similar here in Auckland to the US.

... za vlak imam približno 15 min, potem z vlakom 15 minut vožnje, potem pa hodim približno pol urce do službe (lahko bi šla sicer še z avtobusom, sam mi je škoda tok denarja zmetat za prevoz..). Drugače sem se pa odločila, da si kupim avto, ker mi bo potem ful lažje, poleg tega pa je tam kjer delam zastonj parkirišče, tako da je to super. Zdej mal gledam ...
Takeoff!
... shuttle at lighting speed :) . Just me and one other couple on the shuttle so it took only about 25 minutes to get to the hostel, 5footway inn project sultan. The girl at the desk was friendly and showed me straight to my room which was perfectly located by the bathrooms and the outdoor terrace. My room was small but cute, air conditioning was a life saver!!! Went straight to sleep after a long day, felt good to finally have my trip ...

... suffragio femminile qui in Nuova Zelanda. Ancora qualche metro piú avanti, qualche chiacchiera con la commessa di un negozio (sono davvero gentili qui) e cosa mi trovo davanti?
