Zadar to Split
... city entirely. Split's Old Town was originally constructed in AD293 as the site of the Roman Emperor Diocletian's retirement palace. At it's height, the walled city was home to 10,000 people, so it was quite a place back then and it still is a beautiful site. ... at our hotel at 3:00 AM. Fortunately, I had scheduled a minivan to pick us up from the ferry terminal because it was about a 25 minute ride to the hotel.
Samos was beautiful but hot. It’s a fairly small town. We decided to go shopping but most things were either very cheaply made or very expensive. We stopped by a bakery and fruit stand to get snacks for the ferry. I spent the rest of the time sitting outside the hotel, people watching ...
