... each year (Easter Rockets - YouTube). We finally settled in a restaurant back at Chios town to wait for the 11pm 8-hour overnight ferry to Athens. The ferry was ENORMOUS with, besides heaps of people, so many cars and even big trucks on board!

Another very early start for us this morning which meant getting up again pre dawn. I have never seen as many dawns in my life since we have been on this trip! We book a cheapy-cheapy room right on the old port square (now quite touristy and no longer where the boats moor) and buy ...

Classic Tale of Underground Europe

... a surprise to us and we started looking around, all the while dressed in our beach attire. After climbing back up some stairs from the parking lot we found a surprisingly modern office, museum and ticket booth, all there, apparently, just to serve us. The young man behind the counter greeted us and welcomed us in after we paid admission and explained that this was, in fact, a 1,000-year-old church and that there was also a labyrinth of natural caves behind the cliff walls. How ...
