    ... are worth about $1.2 million each due to how much gold is involved. Crazy stuff. This is where the tour ended and we were left to do whatever we liked with the rest of the day.
    We then had some vermicelli noodles, pineapple bread (yum!) and coconut jelly cake at the monastery cafe which gave us the energy to tackle the 199 stairs to the top of the statue. Not sure if this was enough as our legs felt like coconut jelly once we had come back down ...

    Up and at it for breakfast. We hadn't had much sleep, but that was what plane journeys were for! We were refreshed, knowing that we would be exploring a completely different side to Asia. We were very excited to be meeting up with David's good friend, Craig in a few days!

    Omelette arrived. One fried egg and three pieces of stale half cooked toast. We had been spoilt with amazing omlettes in Cat Ba. We certainly could not complain. ...

    ... of people in HKG, notably both British and Germans (I thought that strange at the time, but actually Germany is a finance hub, so its not really strange at all).

    Entering the stadium we came across a number of jolly hockey stick types, egotistical bankers (what are the chances), local people and all manner of others. It's a cool place for a stadium, the horse racing for both of us was an after thought as the stunning skyline took centre stage.

    ... and pedestrian passageways lead right to a mall. This is definitely a shoppers paradise.

    We found the tramway station, bought our tickets and waited for the next tram to arrive. The first tram was built in the 1880s and new versions have come along every 30 years or so. It ascends at a very steep angle and runs along a track that slices right through neighborhoods of towering office and condo buildings. The angle of ascent makes the buildings look like ...

    ... find my lounge where I could chill for a few hours before the next leg. I managed to find beer and noodles so not all bad.

    About to board again this time heading for Vancouver before catching a sea plane to vancouver island. No idea where one gets the sea plane but no doubt I will work it out.
