    ... but as we were out so early nowhere was open. We then hopped back on the train and headed over to another of my geeky highlights; a cable car. At the top there is the Tian Tan Buddha and at 23m and 500 m above sea level it is the world's tallest seated bronze Buddha statue.     ... in lines and exotic birds with blue feathers and a bad hairdo going about their business totally unconcerned by the people watching way above. Everywhere you look there are birds, some exotic coloured and noisy, others quietly watching the world go by, a bit like humans really :). You can almost forget you are in the middle of Hong Kong, that is until you look up to see the buildings towering over you in the near distance.

    ... bused out to Stanley, night market shopping and eating. A temple, meat and fish market, bird market, dim sum.

    It's been hot and bit humid which has been uncomfortable and of course crowds at various times.
    However, I think HK streets far cleaner than I remember, and ************e smoking.

    ... trip back on the ferry then we decided that rather than catch the bus back we would jump straight into a taxi - it would be easier, right? Unfortunately, everyone else in Kowloon had the same idea so there were no taxis. We must have walked for a kilometre until we managed to find one. Finally home around 11pm. Richard
