... to smog for us and into the cold. .. The first journey was fine, only the usual, people staring and laughing at us, you get used to it fast. The next mission was to find a bus. The lonely planet book said one goes every hour so shouldn't be too difficult. Miriam spots signs that lead to the long distance bus terminal, but that turns out not to exist so into a taxi we jump. A local man translates where we want to go to the driver, very kind amd tells us to only pay the meter ...

Rice noodles are very popular among the Nanning people, with the most famous – laoyou rice noodles. ... just what you need after a 10 hour coach adventure. We bashered up in a cheapy hotel opposite the station and bought the first train ticket out of Nanning for Guilin the following morning.
