The town Oswiciem, had been renamed to Auschwitz by the Nazi’s when they invaded - and was about an hour and a half away from our apartment. The town is back to it’s Polish name, but the concentration camp still bears the name Auschwitz.

We drove the hour and a half to Oswiciem, and with not much knowledge of what to expect we entered the museum. We paid the few Euro to have a guided tour ...

... the power seemed to fade, but it is definitely back in force now that I am in Moravia (and it works at lower elevations). In any case, it did start snowing on-and-off again as we drove into the Moravian highlands.

... that she would pick us up around 3 p.m. That was not to be either. I finally gave in and took a nap, so needed after the restless nights. Feeling rejuvenated, I gathered Vanya and we went to say farewell to Ciocia Jasia and Wujek Elvis. We managed to drink some coffee and have some cookies before Ania called once more and told us to get ready. At last!
