P.O. Box 9891, Nadi Airport Nadi, Viti Levu, Fiji, 679-672-2444
So last we left off, we were headed back to the main island if Viti Levu in Fiji from Waya Lailai. Well, we got into the local boat with a bunch of locals. Fred and I were the only tourists on the boat. Once everyone was on board, they tried to start the engines, and had a bit of trouble. Eventually, they started them and we were off. The first bit was not too bad, but once we got out of the protection on the islands, it was bad. We were in this small boat (about 30 feet long) and were being ...
Nadi, Fiji fandmWe arrived in Nadi airport around 10:00 PM and took the LONG trip, roughly 4 minutes, to Raffles resort for the night. I found a waste bin with Waste Management on it - ironically enough! The next day we were packed up and off to the Octopus Resort which involved a 30 minutes drive to the port and a 1.5 hour boat ride to the island. The waves weren't as choppy as the dive trip, but the medication probably still helped. Fiji has a variety of beautiful volcanic islands that made the trip very s...
Nadi, Fiji juliensteveFlew out from LA at 11pm on the 3rd Oct and arrived in Fiji on the 5th Oct at 5.30am (we missed the 4th!!!) The airport was a nightmare as there were a lot of touts all giving u wrong info about where to get the bus, in the end we got a taxi and as we drove out the entrance found where the bus stop was. The taxi ride took two hours and when we arrived we were exhausted, managed to stay awake to have lunch then fell asleep and almost missed dinner as we did not wake up until seven thirty pm an...
Fiji, Fiji my_little_muf
... you ever visit Fiji!

Fiji is very mountainous... and it's pretty neat to be out in the South Pacific and see mountains all around you out in the distance.

I'd recommend to anyone to take a trip to Fiji. I hope I can go back someday and visit more of the tourist areas... we only had a few free days to do so when we were down there, since we were going to be able to give chiropractic care. American currency goes VERY far in Fiji. The ...
Nadi, Viti Levu, Fiji erinandpaul07... in the bible readings, thunder and lightning would strike outside! It was very scary!!!

Waya Lailai Island (Waya Lailai Eco-haven Resort)

The tour was designed so that the accomodation/resorts got better along the way. The food at Waya Lailai was great and the setting was beautiful, despite the weather. In Robs mind, it looked like the island described in the book 'Lord of the Flies'. We are still in debate as to which one of us is 'Jack' and which one is ...
Fiji, Fiji robeckie... we headed down to the beach to watch the sunset and to have some of the illegal vodka and lemo that we brought with us! After dinner we stayed in the bar and watched some local dancers and then as we were feeling a little tipsy after happy hour, we joined in 'The Bula Dance' which is a dance similar to the macarena that they do each night in Beachcomber! I thought it was bloody great fun at the time mainly due to my drunkeness! And then we ...
Nadi, Viti Levu, Fiji corinneandluke... headed off early to Wanaka, where we would proceed to spend a couple of nights. The drive to Wanaka is absolutely breathtaking, however there are only so many mountains and lakes you can see before the effect wears off slightly. This was compounded by Rob's insistence on stopping every 3 and a half minutes to take pictures.
We arrived in Wanaka safe and sound, and checked out a few hostels, before settling on the Base hostel there, as Ben had some free vouchers ...
Fiji, Fiji jonathanbugWe are back on mainland Fiji after a blissful week on Mana Island. To be honest, it took us a while to get into the Fiji way, especially with the initial rain. But once we got to the island, the sun came out and we started to get into "Fiji time". U really have to be ready to chill out at the beach and soak up the rays...which really isn't a hard task. We're just so used to being on the go all the time (I know, poor us!). It was always ...
Fiji, Fiji dixieannie... pay the admission. Brandt saw that there was a student rate, and eluded to the ticket counter person that we were students but didn't have our ID cards with us. She bought it, and gave us the student rate. Cathy felt bad about it thinking that we just lied in a church. We climbed the 120 or so steps of the spiral staircase to the top of the tower of the Cathedral and found the view...okay, which made us feel better about paying the student rate ...
Mololo Island, Fiji catbrand... is through corporate donations, the Grand Circle Foundation being one. Forty of our group went, and we were divided into four groups of ten. Each group went to a different grade level 1 - 4. Of course, Janet chose the 4th grade class (once a 4th grade teacher, always a 4th grade teacher). The class had 15 or so kids - only for or five were girls. All of the kids had uniforms on, the girls in green dresses, the boys in green sarongs and white shirts. The teacher ...
