... in the distance so we figured there had to be food nearby. We walked and found the only restaurant in sight, "Buffalo Grill" - American Café. Darn, that's not what we wanted...we kept walking. We went into a store like Loews as I attempted to use the best Spanish I knew how to figure out where we could find some food. He told us to walk about 15 minutes up the road because everything is closed ...

Savouring our last day in Spain

... and recap the trip. It has been 10 weeks for Len; his family has really missed him! And Jean thinks six weeks is a long trip, too. We are all ready to board that plane. But before we do, we savor memories of a once-in-a-lifetime trip. One by one, we each tell our favorite part and we all agree! It was the pilgrimage on El Camino frances, the hike. You will have to do it yourself to understand why. Ciao, Dick and Sue

Our friend Pablo told us so much about the game of Futbol we are actually starting to like it alot. Well we are off to an old Spanish town called Toledo for the day so we will keep you updated as time is winding down on the Pro Leisure Tour 1, hints the 1, ha. ... was not packed. A lot happens in a bullfight. I was surprised that it was not just the matador and the toro. The matarador is supported by three torodors and two men on horse back with spears. It goes something like this. The horns (musical) sound and the bull enters the stadium to be greeted by the matador and torodors with pink and yellow capes. Teh men use this time to test the bull out and get to know him. On the second blast of the horns the ...

... us and started *****ing about the tour guide, who, and I can't actually believe this not having been on one, was chaperoning them. Couldn't think of anything worse... The tour guide promptly gathered the kids up around 3am and then we were on our own again. We talked to some Polish girls who were confused as us, as to where the night life was. They mentioned they had been there on the weekend and had experienced the ...

... station -- the one that the Fab had told me -- we walked in a cold drizzle to reach the client's office building. We met the Fab at the coffee shop next door. After a somewhat-tense discussion, we realized it was time to go to meet the head of the Business group in her office. Before I could get my coat on, the Fab had walked out the door, sticking me with the bill! Granted - it was only coffee, but what manner of manners are those? Looking at Steve in disbelief, I ...

... about ourselves. When we arrived in Madrid, it was early in the morning. Most hostels won't let you check in until noon, but we went to the hostel anyway. The guy told us to come back in an hour for a room and unfortunately I listened to Chad when he said, "Let's just walk around and see what we find in the neighborhood". After a necessary coffee break, we continued our newly adopted routine of Chad waiting with the backpacks and I run up to see the rooms and pick the place. We ...

... I have to admit, it has been trying at times and I have felt a bit too much solitude in certain moments. Just today, I received a few emails of support one being from my mom who I haven't heard from since before I left. That was nice and gave me an extra little boost which at this point spun me into overdrive. Whatever loneliness I was feeling, I can only say see ya later alligator! Here come my travel pals! Today I am grateful for tenacity.

The first entry -- at long last.

Yes, I know, I have been here for almost a month now and this is my first entry. Barcelona is a wonderful city with so much to do that it is often overwhelming. I have been continually sight-seeing as time permits. Between classes and basic administrative tasks such as finding an apartment, local grocery store, transportation, etc. I have really not seen too much. At any rate, I have decided to enjoy the less touristy aspects of the city, which is a little difficult ...
