... must say that Norway is a fantastic place to be. The lovly nature and the good looking girls. If there is one bad thing I must say about Norway it has to be the weather, but thats a part of it.

But Norway and Stavanger has it all!! Surfing, skating, party life, great nature and hot women, travel destinaton number one: Stavanger Norway ladies and gentleman!!

STAVANGER FTW!!
Stavanger, Rogaland, Norway theviking... give this a go!

We finally saw Pulpit Rock (most famous sight seeing spot) but that which looks quite small from 1000 m below the edifice. I'm sure that it is much more spectactular from above and I will provide the appropriate pics.....if I live to tell the tale. This is a 6 hour hike folks. (And that is 6 hours Norwegian walking......sure sounds like 8 to me!) I'm game.....but need some more walking to work up to it. Not for the feint of heart or for ...
Stavanger, Rogaland, Norway thistlecheckAnother couple mad train rides from Bergen to Oslo and then over to Stavanger took us to small oil town, from where we would make our way to the beautiful lyseford. The fjord is quite deep, and we came to take the hike up to the Preikestolen, high above the fjord. The hike was great, and though we were soaked by rain upon arriving in Stavanger, it wasn't too bad during the 2 hour trek up.
Stavanger, Western Fjords, Norway fiseb... it is standard drive. No worries......but it has been alot of years since I have played with a stick! Add that to the bizarre driving rules here....and I have a challenge! Bruce says....no probs! I`m certainly hoping he is right!

Well folks.....I think that is enough for my first missive!

Just like the Vikings.....I forge forward! Take no prisoners!

There is nothing I cannot do! (Just need to find the hutspa!)

Stavanger, Rogaland, Norway thistlecheck... ways to prepare these two fairly mundane ingredients for best taste and presentation at the Bocuse d'Or Europe. Under the close scrutiny of two panels of judges made up of top European chefs (one panel for fish and one for meat), most of them Bocuse d'Or winners, and an honorary panel including Bocuse himself, Norway's hope, Geir Skeie, a 28-year old Norwegian chef, took out the inaugural Bocuse d'Or Europe trophy in a hometeam win while second and third ranking went ...
Stavanger, Norway evasolo... composer Fartein Valen, who is buried there and where a museum dedicated to him also stands. The road then passes close by Tysvær church where there is a statue built of Gleng Peerson, one of the country fathers who organised a large-scale Norwegian emigration to America in the 1800s. Nearby is Kårstø which is the main terminal for the gas pipeline from the ...
Stavanger, Norway evasolo... over here...very tasty and fresh!! So we tried to make the money stretch a little by making sandwiches for their breakfast for lunch every day and going to the supermarket. Let's just say that we will not be eating anymore sandwiches when we get back home. =P This hostel is located in a very remote area of Norway. Thus, Eric decided to hitch a ride to the local supermarket. A ...
Stavanger, Western Fjords, Norway bubbajamchin... red light district, which made a nice change from Amsterdam. We went to the docks to see a Russian submarine and had a peek inside, it turns out that submarines are really cramped, hot places. We went camping in Copenhagen, our last camp of the trip. It didn't rain! Well it did, but only briefly on the morning we left. We even managed to have a BBQ in the glorious sunshine. We had a good old wander around Copenhagen, the city has some attractive parts to it but the bus drivers ...
Stavanger, Norway inadequateboy... there are very strict rules on sorting the garbage here. Food waste, paper, plastic, glass, and metal must be separated from the other garbage. The garbage is only collected every other week. 5. Walking in heels on cobblestone roads - I think this one is pretty self-explanatory. There are lots of cobblestone roads and you very quickly need to adjust to walking in town! 4. Reducing electricity ...
Stavanger, Norway klh1... all pretty much a miracle! I got myself playing with the local rugby team, although it seemed to be just a front for cheap beer rather than sport (clubs get tax breaks on beer and spirits!) although we did get some good games against Oslo, Bergen and visiting navy ship crews... Having had such a great time out there, I was sure to go back every now and again to see the old haunts and catch up with as many of the lads as I could (the bar staff always seemed happy to see me ...
