It's good to get out of the city. It is always great to visit a capital city in any country and serves as a good introduction, but I always feel that you really only touch the tip of of the iceberg. Following day, David drove us to the vaccination centre to have our third Tick Borne Encephalitis shot, at least some protection against the nasty little fellows here and in Austria. Well the trip in Stockholm is in its last few days. We thought we should do one final boat trip out to the Scandinavian islands. We picked Birka, not the place where they make shoes, but a famous Nordic trading post from 700 AD. It is a small island but important in the trading routes of the day and a base for Vikings to explore and steal ...
