Narvik wydaje się wymarłym miastem. Ludzi było mało (gdzie się wszyscy pochowali?. Architekturą czy układem miejskim także nie zachwyca. Jedynie widok z tarasu widokowego, po wjechaniu na ponad 600 m kolejka w gore, robi wrażenie - i to chyba dlatego, ze widok jest w kierunku Lofotów :)

See previous entry. Train departed Narvik 1525 arrived Lulea 2240. Spoke to two Dutch girls at train station in Narvik. Ran into them several times along the way -- on the train, in Lulea, Haparanda, Tornio. By far the most unfriendly travelers I ve run into yet. Never a nod of recognition. Almost hostility. Don t know why. Curious. Never anything like it. Almost all others I ve met at least civil, most pleasant and frindly communicative.

... worried me. We tried to fish a little bit but didn't have much luck and we lost most of our lures. The weather was mostly bad -- cold and drizzly but we were getting used to it. Narvik is north of the arctic circle which means it gets very cold in winter (when the sun stops shining). Even though is part of Norway is so far north it doesn't get too cold because the warm gulf stream keeps things nice and warm (relatively speaking).
