    At last we got the chance to spend more than a couple of days in Maastricht! My cousin Annelies and her husband Jules live there and it's a wonderful city full of history and culture. We really enjoyed the hospitality of our hosts and Jen and Matt were able to visit for my birthday. Sharan and Peter Burrow were only an hour away in Brussels so we got to spend a weekend with them as well as cousins Kees and Ans who live in the rural town of Berlicum and Sanne and Dan in Zierikzee ...

    We spent sometime looking around and the boys went to see a band. But the sun's powerful rays had fried our brains and we had to head back to the tent to get some shade.     ... master tells us that their market day is on Wednesdays. So we seem out of luck for sightseeing. Afie-the-shopper is disppointed, except that she found plastic punchos, which is the start of a stragegy in this weather.
